Re: Development and Discussion

What are those colored icons/balls on your buildings?

Modules?

And how are you doing paper and board stuff in electronics assemblers?

Re: Development and Discussion

I scaled up the production a bit, but as I expected I can't support it: not enough crushed stone. Saline is easy to solve.

While not fully feed, it still produces almost 2 wooden boards/second.

Re: Development and Discussion

...snip... Yeah, that is very slow for me. You should see 0.15 bases with the goal of having blue science by 6 hours: that is a constant building bonanza. I have never reached my 6 hours goal. But at the same time I think the mods should include options for fast play that don't neuter the whole poi...

What about this one?`(hydrogen chloride is just a useful byproduct) Bildschirmfoto vom 2018-02-27 21-34-17.png Yeah, that's what I used in the past. The new one is a bit more stable since it is hard to balance both chlorine for white boards and that salt by-product for wood, but what you showed is ...

Re: Development and Discussion

Thanks for all your tips, I appreciate your help! Green + Sodium Hydroxide gives you boards directly The problem with wood from Saline Water Electrolysis is that it requires Green Science to get rid of the Chlorine and Hydrogen Gas, and at that early point in the game I have no use for either. I gu...

Re: Bugs & FAQ

What is the point of the bio-resin recipe? I could do the default wood growing for 20 wood (which could be made into 20 resin), or I could spend an extra fertilizer to get 10 fewer wood and get 2.5 liquid resin, which amounts to 1/5th of a unit of resin. I am using Bob's Electronics, which may have...

Re: Development and Discussion

Radars? Are you insane? Do you know how much iron you need to research and built 4 radars? :) For me the problem isn't so much finding the ores. I explored far enough while searching for the new trees and gardens. Problem are the aliens that start at the same distance as the jivolite and crotinium ...

Re: Development and Discussion

If you choose a large starting area (like I always do, should try a small one sometime) does that cause crotinium and jivolite to be further away compared to a small aread when using RSO? Or does RSO not care about the starting area size? I have no idea. But here is what I do: Angel's bases are big...

Re: Development and Discussion

Now Angel's was always a really slow start. Having to research all these techs and building up even more infrastructure pushes the point where you have enough iron back by at least two hours. Two hours in which you are iron starved. I can't play in an iron starved fashion. I'm the kind of Factorio ...

Re: Development and Discussion

Well I'm stubborn and gave 1 to N sorting another go. I'm afraid it is not for me, to say the least. To reiterate the problem, using saphirite sorting you get a really low an extraordinary unsatisfying trickle of iron and a smaller but completely useless stream of copper. For at least 10-15 hours yo...

Re: Development and Discussion

You are able to get wooden board from Green Algae and Brown Algae: Cellulose Fiber + Alginic Acid as an alternative route. Sodium Hydroxide is really easy: Saline Water from Hydroplant (clarify the purified water). Then electrolize the saline water and flare hydrogen and chlorine. That should give ...

Re: Development and Discussion

can you help me understand what is meant by N to 1 or 1 to N? is that 1:1? Sure! We need an official name for these. Angel? Can you name your creation? The first category of sorting, what I call 1 to N, is sorting where you take 1 input and you get multiple outputs, one of them slag. Example: you t...

Re: Development and Discussion

Why people need so much slag? You can make catalysts from crushed stone. Crushed stone is a very finite and in much need resource. In various points of the game you need a ton of it and in other you don't, but you need to handle it for the entire duration of the game. Early game you need tons of it...

Re: Development and Discussion

It looks like my woes with using 1 to N sorting and overproduction of unwanted undumpable ores and preference for N to 1 sorting is even in a worse place than I thought: I was playing 0.15. In 0.16 Angel made recipes like "Iron Ore" Sorting more complicated: not only must you research trai...

Re: Version 0.16.25

Thank you! Great change!

But I will miss having to put undergrounds on output points. Because of visuals and symmetry, I used to put them everywhere, even when not needed. And it even helped UPS in 0.15.

Damn it! I was redoing my iron setup outside the base (there is never enough space) and I'm a bit tired, so I made a mistake with my maths, by exactly a factor of two

Re: Development and Discussion

Yeah, I'm not worried about 2-4k plates. I'm worried about multiple full warehouses. Plus, the additional slag put my crushed stone in overdrive and now I have a full warehouse of stone brick. I had to set up emergency plastic, large enough to eat all the crushed stone, because if crushed stone back...

My new base based on 1 to N (1 saph => iron, copper, slag) sorting is going real smooth, but I have reached the point where I am can no longer handle the copper ore I'm getting. There is nothing to do with it. I don't want to switch to N to 1 sorting, because this is the whole point of the base, bu...
