I hadn't considered icons in the text view; while its inferior in a lot of ways to the CC standard, I may have too quickly discounted its potential in other ways.
Thanks for showing me that!

Re: Please stop auto-sorting things
Take a bot out of a roboport with multiple bots in it, the bots will re-arrange themselves. really annoying when trying to remove multiple low tier bot slots at once.

Please stop auto-sorting things
Please stop auto-sorting Constant Combinator ALT view. Why can you display 38 but 32 gets "sorted" to 23? Also, please stop Roboport contents from sorting right AFTER you take out one item. When you open the roboport I'm sure would be unnoticed and fine, though I dont understand the advant...

Re: Friday Facts #260 - New fluid system
@Dooces as I already wrote earlier I am considering such optimisations, although they have, so far, been low in the list. Reason is that I am afraid that it would explode to many issues of how to define the networks etc. Also, if I do it too well, imagine a huge smooth running pipe system, then due...

Re: Friday Facts #260 - New fluid system
First and foremost, a huge thanks to Dominik for this wonderfully detailed FFF. The community involvement from the dev team is unparalleled - not just a PR guy regurgitating scripted answers, but real people engaging their devoted fans. FFFs themselves are above and beyond - the reason I originally ...

Re: Death world biter problem
it seems as though all biters are active while waiting for their path, when you get a lot of them waiting, the game slows down, so the pathfinder takes longer to give them paths, which makes biters stay active longer, etc. cutting holes through our solar made things about 2x faster, but still testin...

Re: Death world biter problem
found something that helps - cut holes in your walls to give biters a path to where they want to attack.

yes, immediately.Cellfire wrote: if you used that command did it all go away?
however we have cleared out 140k chunks of spawners without console commands, we have 8 left. using console commands to kill biters at this point would make the last 700 hours seem wasted.

Post the save please, can someone reproduce this in the experimental branch? Re: Give input inserters' sleep priority
I'm not quite sure what you're sugesting.... something to do with the internal behavour of splitters when configured to put items into a machine? if I understand correctly, well, you can't exactly turn an inserter off when fed from a belt if you're looking for items like you can with chests, becaus...

Re: [0.16.38] Direction-dependant inserter inconsistency
Teraka - set the input priority of the splitter to the side the inserter is inserting on, and put another splitter after it, for even faster unloading :) 427520_20180518100811_1.png (that outputs a fully compressed blue belt of ore on its own) I have not tested the ups efficiency of that second spli...

Re: Just bought the game; What were Your first impressions?
You mention 20-30k away.... How do you measure distances that big? Press F5 / F6 / F7 for debug profiles, F4 lets you edit each; "show-detailed-info" shows you distance from spawn. And looking around my base now, I see plenty of 1m ore patches, though 150-300 mil+ (just shy of 400 mil is ...

Re: Inserter vs UPS
To maximaze UPS we must use green inserters and they must take 12 items at every move, but there is no way to do this. i'm right? While by no standard am I an expert, but I can offer you a bit of what I've learned regarding inserters and UPS. Consider everything I say to be probably 90% wrong, as I...

Give input inserters' sleep priority
TL;DR Give input inserters' sleep priority, or have distinct input and output buffers for asms/furnaces. What ? hcl69AU.jpg Currently, an inserter will not sleep if it is oriented to take items off a belt segment with moving items when inserting into a furnace. In this case, inputting into a furnac...

Re: Whats your current game goal?
old goal was to hit 5k/ min science @ 60 ups in mp with bots, did that a while ago. current goal is 6k/min science with belts @ 60 ups in mp. belts are amazing now, getting inserters to put on/take off from belts is still terrible, but there are lots of ways to set them up efficiently. probably afte...
