Re: Small annoying things in Factorio
I just started playing factorio and look up at the clock....it is already 3am. The only thing I have accomplished is fixing mistakes from the past.

Re: Main Bus Design
This is what I aspire too but I would have to rebuild it 50 times to get me endgame base to look like this.

Re: Early-Midgame bottleneck
Does no one else find it funny that he referred to the "enjoyment bottleneck" I agree the new science packs are a lot of tedium. I do enjoy how they extend the game but they feel like you need to do all 3 at once. Where as red comes first and takes 20 minutes to setup then green takes abou...

Re: Baffled - please provide reasons
Also you forget endgame power is solar. When you tear up your nuke plant you will have to put down about 1000 robot grids worth of solar. you do not really want to do that with a personal roboport.

Re: Smelters/Plastic need for full belt of blue circuits?
for 1 blue belt of blue circuits you need 20 belts of green assuming no modals right? Then to adjust for modals do you divide by 1.4 or multiply by .6 I always get confused I am pretty sure it is divide by 1.4 but I cant prove it to my self.

Re: Logistic Network Needs to be smarter
Transitioning from belts to bots takes a different mindset IMO. Rather then having a green circuit area and a red circuit area you have 1 factory. Then you try to have all material flows in 1 direction. In my bot based factory the final product is a rocket. So Oil products flow in from the west, cop...

Re: Logistic Network Needs to be smarter
You shouldn't be using activie providers at the train station. You are simply wasting bots time. They have to move it from the active provider into storage. Then later when it is actually needed they have to move it again. In addition you are building up an unnecessary buffer. It doesn't matter if ...

Did you mean titanium? Platinum is not as bad as gold but is still very soft as far as metals go

Re: Avoid lategame brutal expansion: RSO or ER:Depletion?
So I discovered a flaw in my train design this weekend. I opened up 4 new Iron ore mining outposts. The furthest 2 are far enough (about 3 km) that trains end up waiting at the closest rather then pathing to the open stations. The solution was to take the offending station and put it in a new networ...

Re: Beacons fully becomes the trash!
My problem with becons is that there is really only 1 way to build with them. Leaves very little creativity.

Re: Avoid lategame brutal expansion: RSO or ER:Depletion?
I also name all of my mining post "Iron Ore Out" or "Copper Ore Out" and they have a wiring condition to close the station if they do not have enough in chests to fill a train. This has bitten me in a butt a couple times when I place an Iron station on a copper field and forget ...

Re: Avoid lategame brutal expansion: RSO or ER:Depletion?
Truth be told I am only running 4 trains on 15 stations in my network so I am very low bandwidth. Trains tend to prefer closer stations but if a station is closed they will continue on to a station that is open. My system can break down in theory if all the iron stations are closed then all iron tra...

so dissapointed in the cut and paste mod.
I was hoping for something the give ctrl-x, ctrl-c and ctrl-v functionality
ctrl-x creates a blue print and deconstructs
ctrl-c creates a blue print
ctrl-v pulls up that last blueprint created

Re: Reward for killing biters
Have you tried turret zerging? I use 6 legs 4 personal roboports mark II's Then place about 100 turrets right around their base. Almost no challenge and I only very rarely lose a construction bot much less a laser turret. or if you are really flushed with resources Nukes are stupid easy. Biters are ...

Re: even faster conveyor ?
I am working on a prof of concept but using 4 LCCCC trains feeding 32 yellow belts and 800 logistics bots I have been able to support about 7-8 minute rockets (15 minutes while the mall is working) while doing infinite research. I vastly underestimated the steel requirements so I have to do a little...
