What is a U-sized logistics networks ?Jap2.0 wrote:Yes. Don't make U-sized logistics networks. Don't have production 20 miles away from consumption. Use buffer chests. Have enough roboports. If you design it right, better pathfinding wouldn't be needed.

There is no best alternative.
Too many pros and cons and preferences and resources and etc. that it is too subjective to say that something is best.

Re: Is "Lazy Bastard" appropriate?
I am brazilian and from italian descent (as most of southern Brazil). This combines two cultures that speaks bad words frequently. Kids here learn to curse so soon that calling someone "bastard" is a bit lame because it is not that offensive. We use curses like w**re and m**f**r from young...

Re: Palisade or wooden wall
There is an old mod for that: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=14987 Probably wouldn't take much to update it for the current Factorio version. Thanks! I have searched the mod portal but didn't found it. I will take a look and, if I update it, I will let you know. That's a good ...

Re: How the get the amount of ...
that can be hard to read, especially if it scrolls off the screen. wire a roboport to a arithmetic combinator. [ore] + 0 output [ore] wire the output to a pole, and mouse over it. now you can read the ore amount alone. ;) welcome to the forums by the way. :D The combinator is not needed... Wire the...

The OP said he doesn't care too much about performance so QEMU (which does emulation) may solve this issue.

Re: Factorio Server For ARM (Pretty Please
Use virtualization. Just install some kind of virtual machine and run an AMD64 with linux on it. I would use a virtual machine anyway if I would run a server. ou will loose performance but it is a lot safer. Also... I don't know if there is a good solution to virtualization in ARM. A quick search go...

I highly recommend against that as a first language. I agree with Daid too and also recommends Python as a learning language. I am a software developer too, my major degree thesis was about comparing some programming languages and I found Python a very nice language to learn as first. Even my frien...

I agree. Optimizing layout (be it less space or modular/linear ) and find clever ways to use the provided tools (use tanks instead of accumulators) are more interesting.Tubig wrote:There are plenty of other challenges more interesting than finding the right ratio for something.

Re: When you're making a factory, where do things most commonly go into grinding halt for you?
Usually, my bottlenecks are when I go to the next step of the science pack... Currently, I am stuck on Production Science Pack because it requires lubricant (for the eletric engine) and my lubricant reservoir is a bit far from my science pack factory so I am still thinking how I get lubricant there:...

Max speed is independent of train length.
Acceleration is dependent of the train length.
I have tested in creative mode driving a train in a triangular loop circuit with fairly long straight lines.

Re: (0.15) Fluid Wagon / Rail Tanker Station
Your station needs to be bigger... Each fluid wagon is worth 30 storage tanks. fluid wagon = 75.000 fluids or 3x 25.000 fluids (you can put 3 fluids in one wagon); storage tank = 2.500 fluids; EDIT: Thanks! You reminded me that I should also add a pump in the input of the storage tank array. Storag...
