0.10.11 -> 0.10.12 gave a fault for me too.
For me it was an ''application stopped responding" from windows. After close factorio updated as normal.
Sorry, but no event logs, I was too lazy to get them at that time.

Update 0.10.10 -> 0.10.11 worked without error message for me.
UAC is enabled and I did get the (expected) prompt.
But no 'application has stopped working.

I updated my card a few weeks ago, so the drivers were already pretty new. As it is a bit older video card (Asus Geforce GT640) I'd expect the bugs to be out of the drivers. There were indeed newer drivers available so I updated to be sure.
