Re: Friday Facts #301 - Crash site: First state
Rseding's bugfix reports are nice to read. I like his attitude of trying to understand and solve the issue, rather than the "people should not be doing this anyway" approach that is also easy to adopt instead. His attitude results in optimizations in the base game that also happen to benef...

Re: Friday Facts #231 - Belt compression & Crash log uploading
Nice to read about the crash logs and how it helped resolve some bugs. As a developer working on server-side applications I know how incredibly useful it is to have crashes automatically gathered and organized to help you prioritise what bugs to fix. Happy hunting! Regarding the opt-in beh...

Re: Version 0.12.35
Yay for bugfixes, but have to admit I felt a little bit of disappointment when I checked the version and did not see 0.13
Only 1 fix probably means 0.12 is pretty close to "Kovarex stable"
The waiting continues...

Re: Friday Facts #136 - Map Transfers
Thanks, I enjoyed reading it. I think you managed to communicate a technical topic in a fairly accessible way. That said, I'm a programmer as well, so I might be overestimating the grokkability of this :-D Funny how we always end up doing a 90% re-implementation of something else (TCP in this case),...

Welcome Mishka!
Those signal changes look good and look useful!
I think the 0.13 release is going to be Big Thing, because there will be a LOT of really nice features in it.

Re: Single circular belt factory
That's an interesting design! I've experimented with circular designs in the past, but they usually ground to a halt when the belt got too full. Your use of smart inserters & per-item buffer chests to regulate factory output seems to help alleviate that problem. How far have you managed to push ...

Why can't there be graphics of this quality http://eu3.factorio.com/assets//img/blog/fff-88-decider-combinator-super-res.png For everything in the game  Patience. They'll get to it eventually. On the original topic: this looks really neat. Makes me look forward to the 0.12 update even more :-D

Thank you for linking to InfiniExplorers! It looks like a 3D version of Factorio, which can turn out to be awesome. I backed them, but it looks like the dev needs a lot more backers to reach the goal.

I like that idea. That means you could make the train skip your copper station when your central storage is full of copper, for example.

[0.10.8] Train "loses" to station rebuilt by constructor bot
I accidentally crashed my car into a Train Stop. Because it was in range of a robo port, it showed up as rebuildable. So I crafted a new train stop, put it in a chest and let a robot rebuild it. This worked! It even kept its custom name. The problem: The train going back and forth between this stati...

Re: Optimized .png
You may want to look at http://imageoptim.com als well, since it incorporates a number of tools into one tool chain. For web development I use it a lot to get png and jpg images down to smaller sizes. Sometimes even 20% of the original without noticeable quality loss.

Re: Version 0.9.0
I've played only an hour or two so far, but I like what I see. The huge forests with the different trees are pretty, even though the thin dark green tree is a little too dark - I keep mistaking it for a shadow. I actually like the huge forests because they absorb pollution, so in the early game they...

Re: MMO thrill
I see coop multiplayer as a way to play the game together with someone else. That way you can build two bases at the same time and link them, or build together on one huge base. It's like with Minecraft I guess. Alone it's okay, but it's great to share the experience. A MMO would probably die in dev...
