Came here to 2nd this, i was working with them for the first time and i thought i was seeing things when i saw them jump every so often. Something doesn't line up for 1 frame and once you notice, it gets really annoying (try staring at a fully build but empty balancing belt setup for instance)

Pretty sure it was a rock, there are no cliffs in the area, just a big one, one that you don't easily smash unless you run into them at full speed or have a ton of upgrades. I am used to being able to "unstuck" by reversing (trying to turn is what gets you in my experience)

Vulcanus from scratch is doable, but very tedious. You will have to mine a lot of rocks to kickstart everything. So, i just got my fully loaded, kitted out tank blown apart by biters in the first small camp i went for on the trip.
