Re: pY Alternative Energy - Discussion
So.... should I hold off starting a new game now and wait? Can anyone advise? There's a big ass update coming real soon like a few odd weeks. Would be best to wait till the updates are out I know. But I want to play :) I am dying to know how many weeks a few odd weeks are. (no rush, modauthors :D )...

Re: [MOD 0.16.x] MadClown01's Nuclear Extension
So I am finally at a point where I need nuclear (500 odd MW) and I am looking at the fuel cells. I take it the thorium cells last 50% longer?
Shame I can not try is yet, but science cost tweaker yellow flasks are a real bitch (and so are all the other ones past green).

Re: Thoughts on ore processing
I'm using MadClown01's addons, and those add some ores to the world which aren't all used in catalytic sorting so some of them must be done the imprecise way in order to be used at all, meaning a mixed system is somewhat forced with these addons. This mod is to be used on my next map when I find th...

Re: Development and Discussion
I just came back to factorio after some months and I was wondering if the free manganese from water chain was phased out? I am unable to locate it if it is still possible Consider using the crushed saphrite/jivolite/rubyte combined sorting to get equal amounts of iron and manganese. No catalyst req...

Re: Bugs & FAQ
It appears that Bob's most recent update renamed(?) stone and steel pipes which broke bioindustries. Darn Bob, I am getting really tired of this constant ... improvement.

Re: [0.16.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
I gotta say I am getting a little annoyed by what is happening. I did start a new map with your ominous belt checkbox not enabled and still had the new belts. Good, build for it. Now, after the last update, they are gone and I can not check it again to leave the status quo in my current game. Unless...

Re: My first bobs+angels game, frustrated by green scien
Hate to break it to you, but you should be mining rubyte and bobmonium from the start anyway. I think this is where I disagree. In the base game and Bob's and Angel's and *most* of Bob's+Angel's you can start out mining just a few resources, then slowly add new ones. It seems pretty obvious that *m...

Re: [MOD 0.16] MadClown01's Processing
... I like the way you think... Could make an interesting seablock plugin. The trick would be in developing a seawater processing chain that isn't too simple. I would be nice for early uranium - and this has actually been demonstrated to work. Essentially you drop a high-tech plastic into the ocean...

Re: Development and Discussion
Some trimming of the fat is in order. careful what you wish for.... we might get a petrochem chain for turning fats into oils, into gas oil and lube :) We already have that with the bio-processing stuff tho :P Talking of fat. Check the last Bobs inserter update. Broke a bunch of stuff. But exactly ...

Re: Show me yours...
cool ratti :) + sauerkraut you probably do have enough.. they are used in mark 1's and mark 2's, but i know that i have already gone through 1 stack of 5k bricks, but yes i think you wont need more than 10k to keep you going for now, unless you want to brickify? all your base :) Now that we have re...

Re: Is there a fix to the Uranium Mining + Sulfuric Acid Problem
By default, you should have Saphirite, Stiritite, Jivolite, Crotinnium, Bobmonium, Rubyte (the six Angel's Ores) and coal (which I had forgotten). You can make all the ores from those. They don't all show in the starting zone, but they should show up some place and you shouldn't have anything else....

Re: Development and Discussion
Is 1 to N sorting any good? Short answer: no! Not for high demand ores. For low demand ones it is probably good, or at least easy to set up as a temporary setup that will last you to end game and then you tear it up and be done with 1 to N forever. .... I am in the same boat, I really do not know w...

Re: Does Solder now require Solder?
I'm in the first steps of a B+A campaign, having played bob's extensively. I have the full suite of both Bob's and Angels including Petrochem, Metallurgy, and also Bio-Processing. I'm past all the red science, but I've hit a wall. With something I added they removed the original Solder plate recipe...

Re: Development and Discussion
Okay, I have a few small questions regarding various parts of the mods: What is the petrochem locomotive good for? It only has more fuel consumption and more HP while having a smaller equipment grid than normal locomotives. And with bobs the normal locomotives have 3 Tiers, making the even better i...

Re: Development and Discussion
hi frost. the BioPlastic needs i think acetone, which can be made from Nutrient Pulp, in one of the Gas Refineries. if you have the mod "what-is-it-really-used-for" it can show some new tech that might need to be researched. with just 1 Arboretum of the BioPlastic, and BioResin trees each...

Re: Development and Discussion
What do I do with the bio-resin and plastic? I can't just stick it into machines needing resin, so what is the trick? By the way, why the freakin' hell is the pellet press mark II locked behind production science? It does not make any sense whatsoever. Every other building of this chain and tier is...
