Mostly use splitters and retool your belts so that they use alternate sides of the belt. It's really something you should plan for early on but splitters do work nicely.

Pretty much if the red, transparent squares on your minimap/map (Press M) do not touch a red alien base. You won't get attacked.
I had to shut my base down from all production due to the the heavy number of alien hives around me, and you are complaining you can't get any to attack you... :P

During WW2 I remember hearing of artillery cannons mounted on train cars so the train can move to a spot quickly, stop and fire shells at a target then move on... would be good for those, oversized alien nests.

yeah, it's the only annoying thing about chem plants, they have SET inputs for water/petrol. so it makes your life a bit harder when setting them up

Yes, they said they want to put it on greenlight (not just as a concept as it is now).
For a "concept" it is certainly one of the most addicting, replayable, enjoyable, complete "Concepts" I seen.

I did speed insert these furnaces and expanded the line after those pictures. It was mostly taken on a per example. I just like having the full ore belt preset and ready to go. So I don't have to worry about removing coal feeds etc. There is a lot of room there after I removed the old furnaces. Also...
