[StrangePan][2.0.10][macos 10.13.6] Crash selecting "edit scenario""

I select: Main menu -> Map editor -> Edit scenario

The moment I click on the "Edit scenario" button, the game crashes. It does this every time.

This crash also happens when I enable a mod, and then (re)load the game. (Not the expansion mods, but mod from the mod portal.)

Unfortunately, deleting the "crop-cache.dat" file does not fix it this time.

The only way to get the game working again is to manually edit the file: ~/Library ...

If anybody runs into this and is reading the thread it would help us if you uploaded the file before deleting it :)


I haven't deleted it yet, i just moved it out of its directory.
The file is called "crop-cache.dat" and it is 2.8 MB in size.
It works fine in Factorio 1.1.100.

The forums don't ...

The problem goes away if i delete this file:

~/Library/Application\ Support/factorio/crop-cache.dat

The file will be regenerated, and after that, the game will launch and relaunch as expected.

[StrangePan][2.0.7][macos 10.13.6] Crash on launch, after "Cloud player-data.json unavailable"

After double clicking the app icon, the factorio.app program launches. It spend some time loading stuff, and then it crashes. The main menu never appears.

I think I found a small oversight.

I've tried playing with research cost multiplier, set it to 4X. I found that while all tech now cost 4X their normal amount of beakers, the "Automation" tech is still 10 beakers.

I suppose this is a deliberate feature, since it is the only tech you need to ...

So I've downloaded some older versions myself to check and.... I must be going crazy, or the mandala effect is real, because I could have sworn there used to be a sound effect related to the power switch. :?

It missing was the first thing I noticed when checking out the new power switch. And I did ...

[0.18.35] power switch doesn't have sound effect when toggling

In the past toggling a power switch would result in a suitably electric-power-switch-sounding sound effect.

But after updating to 0.18.35 this seems no longer the case.

I noticed because I specifically wanted to check out the new graphics. Thus I ended up playing with the switch.

I'm on MacOS v10 ...

OK, last report for today (well, yesterday)

0.16.1 still won't launch. And It really looks like this build is just incompatible with older versions of macOS

Could some of you try the attached app? To make it smaller, I removed a lot of data, so the game won't start properly, but it should crash later, with a factorio window open and a log file created. The error should say something about 'Unknown key:"font.default"'.

Ok this seems to be different than previous times. I downloaded 0.16.0 from "www.factorio.com/download" and installed it.
The game didn't launch, and after about 30 seconds of the icon jumping in the dock, the OS said there was a problem and I should report it. (still no log file)

I launched game in 0.15.40 to check if 0.16 is released.
-->The application launched as expected and reported 0.16 was available.
I choose to update by pressing the "update" button.
-->Update got downloaded and then the application relaunched itself. (as expected)

0.16 quit almost instantly with a ...

I have the same problem on macOS, except, the game didn't produce a log for launching 0.16.

In addition, after the initial crash, the application doesn't launch anymore at all, the OS says the application can't be opened.

An error occurred when updating to 0.16
After applying the update, factorio crashed on relaunch, now it no longer launches the game at all, the OS says the application can't be opened. :cry:
