Conceptually, I'm not sure that there should be any cost for transfers between platforms. When actually in orbit, you could just toss the items and let these asteroid collector arms snatch them out of the air vacuum. Any kind of fuel requirement would be trivial next to what it took to get out of th...

Not exactly. The lamp color was telling you that the station was disabled, as the mod lacked a way to direct the train to the correct station.

Bringing back the lamp color need not necessarily disable a station now. It would just give me a useful visual indicator that I could choose to ignore.

I know another failure state that would do some of this: Trains returning to a depot that doesn't clear the delivery. I didn't think to document exactly what happened, but when I tried to copy and paste a stop I missed some of my circuit wires. Eventually caught trains just cycling the same orders- ...

Would it be possible to reintroduce a station lamp color indicator and possibly a circuit signal to indicate duplicate names? You might as well not use the arithmetic combinator and connect the read train stop cargo directly to the filter inserters to unload. It is useless in helping stop unwanted items being dropped off.
