Re: [MOD 1.1] Sea Block Pack 0.5.1
I'll first note that I don't know if you made these changes or it's a Factorio 1.1 deal, or one of the mod packs BUT: Just wanted to comment that running at high science cost multipliers is much more seamless in this version, so thank you! All the basic techs you need to expand production greatly ca...

Heads up! Another Factorio update broke Bob's mods.
Guess I'm reverting a version until it's fixed

Re: [0.18] Sea Block Pack 0.4.5
Last time I did the number crunching for power loops it was in early 0.17 so it might be producing less energy with the mineralized water. You are dividing by 4 the area needed for green algae, which is incredibly space-consuming in itself and the consumption in mineralized water is pretty low. Min...

Re: [0.18] Sea Block Pack 0.4.2
This is probably a stupid question, but the answer eludes me.. when the tooltip says beltspeed 7.5 items/s, is that both sides or each sides?? eg. the grey belts is 3.75 items per second per lane, or 7.5 ?? And the yellow is 15 items per belt or per lane?

Re: [0.17] Sea Block Pack 0.3.7
Arboretums used to be better, but now its not really that good. I used to rush for arboretum tech, but in my recent game I did the calculations after getting there and.. it's pretty much the same power / KW invested as green algae 1. The only advantage over green algae is in taking less space, but ...

Re: [0.17] Sea Block Pack 0.3.6
Not mod update.
Factorio update 0.17.67 breaks Bobs / Angels.
Until those mods are updated and the updates added to Sea Block, we have to run 0.17.66. That version works (if using Steam, go to Beta branches and choose 0.17.66).

Re: [0.17] Sea Block Pack 0.3.2
Is there a way to disable worms completely in .17 ?
In .16 you could set Enemy Bases to None, but that doesn't seem to work anymore.

Re: [0.16] Sea Block Pack 0.2.17
I went for producing a large green algae farm to produce charcoal and burn it. You need a number for electrolysers for this. My spreadsheet tells me this is only optimal on marathon settings due to the massively higher cost of research, building steel costs. In normal mode you can rush to arboretum...

Re: [0.16] Sea Block Pack 0.2.6
I whipped up some ceramic filters early so I wouldn't have to cart charcoal around to *another* part of my base that didn't really need it. But now I'm having an issue were I'm barely making enough sulfuric acid to keep neutral. I need lubricant to advance to the next stage of cupric refining, but ...

Re: [0.16] Sea Block Pack 0.2.6
I was using some spreadsheets to calculate my washing to geodes to ore system, and in the "Washing for geodes" recipe, the yields for blue and red it says the yield is 1.5. I was expecting this to mean guaranteed 1 geode + 50% odd of getting the second one, or even 3 geodes every 2 washes...

Re: [0.16] Sea Block Pack 0.2.5
Fun fact: boiler I is better than boiler II for steam cracking in refinery (it produces more steam due to lower temperature, despite higher efficiency). the electrolysers are 50% faster and need only 16% more power, more efficient! Yes, but I am at stage of game when power is no concern - and from ...

Re: [0.16] Sea Block Pack 0.2.5
The wind turbines needing steel rules them out as an early investment imo. While the research chain to solar is shorter than better steam engines, steam engines take relatively little infrastructure investment to be self-maintaining (just an algae farm complex and fuel processing setup). While prod...

Re: [0.16] Sea Block Pack 0.2.5
In the current version of the mod, how do you folks start out? You are super limited on both space and power, it definitely feels like it's gotten slower to get started. Is it worth it to build more wind turbines ? Do you mass produce charcoal and burn it? I'm leaning towards going straight for sola...

Re: [0.15] Sea Block Pack 0.1.7
Do temperate and swamp trees exist at all in seablock? I've explored a long way out from my base in all directions, and I now have loads of desert, temperate and swamp gardens, but I'm yet to see a single tree. Yes, but they are stupidly rare :/ So have you actually seen one to confirm this? :) I'v...

Re: [0.15] Sea Block Pack 0.1.7
It is definitely more efficent to use geodes instead of slag, though you need a lot of mineralized water. But with geodes, the sulfuric waste -> acid cycle does not work anymore, because you need way more acid than can be recovered from the waste water. And since making sulfur from coal no longer w...

Re: [0.15] Sea Block Pack 0.1.7
Here is what I came up with, based on the above screen shot. I had some throughput issues with belts so washing plants deposit directly into chests. as 1 chest can not be in range of all crushers, 2 filter inserters move the appropriate geodes between the 2 above chests. the crushed geodes are depo...
