Re: [0.17.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
Just started a test map and played up to green, was curious what to expect. take the ingredients with a grain of salt, as its just the basic reciepes, specially wood that i used for resin for cables. But white circuits in military? Gold in blue science? (should read 10, as i forgot to break down the...

Re: Player Power Curve vs Biter Power Curve imbalanced
i have not played wave defense, but it sounds like the goal is not the endgame (as in rocket)? correct me if im wrong But ive played deathworld. Its harder, but survivable and i get it that after you survived and teched up, its still somewhat boring. Tho its not contradicting the devs in them saying...

Re: Accidentially made 42K repair packs... now what?
Base game you got 2 3 options: Repair stuff with them. Box 'em and destroy 'em. I personally would make a little "repair supply" depot, to supply all "defense" bot stations. At least, you don't have to worry about repair for the rest of the game :D make a train that endlessly bu...

Re: Player Power Curve vs Biter Power Curve imbalanced
Natural Evolution Enemies and Rampant mod have more then 150.000 downloads combined. This shows that there is demand for Biter focused gameplay. Bob´s mods average about 3-400k, logistics has 500k. Angel´s smelting/refining/petrochem ~300k. Should we make that mandatory for vanilla? Thats all the v...

Re: Player Power Curve vs Biter Power Curve imbalanced
I really dont understand why killing biters all the time is something different then makeing endless sience for you. And this is why this argument will go in circles forever, unless someone breaks that: The game is not meant to be a combat simulator (standard RTS game). It's fully intended that the...

Re: Player Power Curve vs Biter Power Curve imbalanced
i dont think you got the argument. The argument is the player is ahead of the biter evolution all the time. i didnt ask to change this. As you can see from my graph after the player reaches laser tech, he allready reached the maximum strenght the biters will achieve after they reached 100% evolutio...

Re: [0.17.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
With 0.17 around the corner, and the planned science changes, it got me thinking about science packs in bob mods, how the science changes in .17 might affect them, and since i had nothing better to do this morning i decided to write a post about it. I like your thoughts In the same spirit, not aski...

Re: Bob did a Youtube.
Personally, I find gameplay videos of Factorio to be dull as hell. The game is simply too long to have any meaningful content from start to finish, with a lot of bumbling around that breaks the flow. Doing videos on how to get started with Bob's along with the design philosophy explained by the cre...

Re: [MOD 0.16] LTN Tracker
how does FNEI do it? I prefer that over "What is it used for", but you gotta know some workarounds I got used to searching for bauxite when looking for aluminium ore, must be its internal name never had problems with it, dont know why people prefer the other one I also knew about Angel´s O...

Re: [0.16.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
Hi, I just downloaded all Bob's mods and FNUI, but I noticed while setting up the new game that each mod has a bunch of settings associated with it as well and I'm not sure which of them I should turn on. Is there a recommended starter configuration or an overview somewhere? best overview are the m...

Re: [MOD 0.16] LTN Tracker
i think a search in the inventory tab would also be helpful. The more mods you have the more items will show up there. Its possible to find them when playing with a certain mod for a long time, but search would make it so much easier Thats a thing i find lacking in the base game too, where the craft...

Re: Friday Facts #282 - 0.17 in sight
Having to wait 1 year and over 2 months for a release is a bad idea ;) ? So as soon as 0.16 hit, you were on the edge of your seat, eagerly awaiting 0.17? You never bothered about the 0.16.x releases? It wasn´t all just bug fixes, just like 0.17.0 will not bring everything they planned at once. Las...

Re: Simple Solution To Thundering Train Herd
it would be kinda offtopic, but meh The mod itself does not fail. The failure, as so often, is is to be found in front of the PC :D let it run on default other than requesting items. Its possible, it will do something. But not only will it create deliveries of only 1k, but will also make requester i...

Re: Friday Facts #282 - 0.17 in sight
2 thing about the map generation a button/slider that makes all settings per resource the same (if you still want to change, you can do it from there) would be awesome Im playing around with settings, with Angels + Madclowns ores. Thats 20 dropdowns x 3 colums to change (will be better with sliders ...

Re: Simple Solution To Thundering Train Herd
If anyone who wants it hasn´t got a problem using mods, i suggest using LTN, cos it solves all of these problems at once. I do not like LTN because it is "just works" magically. This suggestion is better imho. Hta? it solves alot of whats discussed in "more vanilla train functionalit...

maybe show us around your test map and how you come up with new ideas and test stuff? tbh, i looked at your videos and was abit disapointed, but it makes sense now that you told us about your actual playing experience i dont wanna sound disrespectful, but you are not a Youtuber in the classic sense ...

Re: Simple Solution To Thundering Train Herd
im not saying that this shouldn´t be a thing, i just dont understand the urge to build rails and control trains that way, at least in vanilla. There will always be use cases that the system isnt supporting, or better not optimal to implement in. You might find support in 10% playerbase for this &quo...
