[1.1.53] Disk Writes is very high on main menu

I created a script on my PC when my disk writes go above a certain rate for a sustained period because unknowingly I had chrome eat 20% of my disk remaining life over a single year just becuse I left on twitch streams (which is either a problem w/ twitch or chrome). I haven't played factorio in a ye...

Re: [1.1.21] Minor Performance Regression from 1.1.19

I repeated your methodology and got the same difference in perfomance. System wasn't thermal throttling before. But to eliminate randomness from Ryzen precision boost overdrive I set system to run on a manual fixed clock. benchmark-19a: 61741 ms benchmark-21a: 62805 ms benchmark-19b: 61846 ms benchm...

[1.1.21] Minor Performance Regression from 1.1.19

Platform Windows 10 Ryzen 3600 Test map: flame_sla 10k map downloaded from https://factoriobox.1au.us/maps Issue I was testing reducing my memory timings and was benchmarking factorio ups with map downloaded from site above. I noticed a measurable drop in performance and after further testing trying...

Late Game Remnant Visuals

Once an entity is destroyed, it's immediately replaced by a ghost on top of it once you get bots. The auto ghost functionality is definitely necessary but it does reduce the visibility of the remnants significantly. I wish there was better unity between remnants and ghosts so that you could enjoy th...

Re: Rainbow belt w/o inserters

That other thread is under no circuit ufortunately. It would be nice if there was one thread for all science sushi designs. Regardless, here's my take on it. 1.PNG Very simple and compact. Can support 62 labs for 1kspm. Simple circuit with counter. Belt enables until it counts up to 900. The inserte...

Ok. It's probably better practice to read belt contents instead anyways.

[1.0.0] Infinity chest w/ Removed unfiltered items Inconsistently Deletes Items

Just when I'm happy and satisfied and my expectations low. I'm presented with new things that gets me really excited again. Those last three points are really enticing.

Re: Overly Complicated Sushi Belt for Uneven Ingredients w/o Loop

https://giant.gfycat.com/PoorAltruisticInsect.webm Version 4! Extremely happy with this design. I was able to get absolutely everything on one belt! I didn't think I could get the output on the same belt as the input as the feed was full compression and the output inserter has no space for it. Then...

Re: Overly Complicated Sushi Belt for Uneven Ingredients w/o Loop

https://giant.gfycat.com/MadComposedAfricanjacana.webm Version 3. Made it full 8 beacon coverage along with simplifying inserter logic. Assemblers started pausing a bit. It's not bottlenecked by the sushi system but by the fact that the resources are limited to one belt. My favorite addition is the...

Re: Overly Complicated Sushi Belt for Uneven Ingredients w/o Loop

https://giant.gfycat.com/FailingGrossBagworm.webm Version 2. Much better logic. Previous version had a small error rate which was fixed. Better implementation cut down combinator use by 40%. Throughput also improved significantly and assembler downtime is practically eliminated. My previous design ...

Re: Optimized Steam Engine Setup

Oooh, neat. How far can that be extended before you exceed the inserter throughput? Doubled it up as quick test and it still worked at full capacity. For burner the max should be, (1.8item/second * 1.21 GJ fuel) = n * 0.0018 GW . So 1210 boilers not taking into account power consumption by the burn...

I like your tripling up on boiler idea.

I made a late-game compact version.

With nuclear fuel and max stack upgrade, you can daisy-chain down the middle too. Removed unnecessary power poles and switched to turbine for compactness.

Re: Fluid Mixing Oil Refinery

Maybe two blueprints, the first one without pipes and the second one pipes only? How about fraction cracking? The pipes isn't the problem unfortunately. The problem is it requires a setup process where you have to pump fluids in to the system to 'prime' the pumps with the correct fluids so it works...
