Might want to give Train Supply Manager mod a try. For example, in my smelter, I have it setup with a "holding stacker" such that a train is waiting with a full load of ore in the stacker. This is easy enough, just chain all the belts together with wire to a constant combinator. Set the combinator to output 1 copper symbol or pretty much anything else. Set each wired belt to enable if that symbol is greater than 0. Turn the "belt gate" on and off by turning the constant combinator on ...

Works surprisingly well. Even better, in conjunction with disabling the station if it has less than the average of all other stations. Trains are using all 12 stations very fairly evenly. Even if a train's destination station was disabled en-route, it stops close enough ...

I have a large smelter with 12 pickup stations in a row (all named the same). The issue is trains will only use the first 4 stations, with 8 others unused. I was in the middle of designing a gigantic oil base, perfect timing! :D

You can revert to version 17.66 (instead of "Latest") in your steam settings if you want to load up your game in the mean time.

That should be enough! Each column of furnaces takes 4 belts of ore and spits out 1 belt of Steel at the bottom. (yes 4 belts of ore then 4 belts of iron plate fit down a standard 12 beacon square!) It is very tall layout. I had it less tall and much wider but ...

Is there a way to make loaders take evenly from both sides of a belt? I built a rather large Factorio Extended base with "MiniLoaders" that input belt contents evenly from both sides of the belt into machines. However, Miniloaders are a very large drain on UPS and I switched them all to Deadlocks ...

The save game is artificially limited to 18.

Just set the game speed to 1 and you should get a few more ups =)

/c game.speed=1
