Huh... I just switched down to 0.16.51 and tried it for myself. I really thought that was a vanilla feature. So that's embarrasing.

[Oxyd] [0.17.14] Research completion not printing to the console
It used to be (in 0.16) that when researching a technology completed, in the console a message would be printed which told you which tech was just finished. It is no longer doing that, and there does not seem to be an option to enable it. The problem is persistent and repeatable. I completed Rocket ...
