Both the filtered stack inserter and stack inserter move 5 items each swing - from chest to chest. Non-stack inserters move 3 per swing. However both the stack inserters deposit 5 items onto the belt per swing, while the others only do one. AFAIK this is the intended behavior? Ok that clears things...
