Re: Plain text password in server-settings.json
Keep in mind, however, that if an attacker gets access to your auth token, it's pretty much the same as if they got to your password. So this really only protects you against password re-use. Keep your tokens safe. Also, the token may expire at any time, for any reason. So if you don't specify a pa...

Re: Server Query
Try setting up a ssl proxy and tap the wires with wireshark if you want to see what's going on (please devs, make this easier by publishing the api docs?)

Re: [Public|EU] Dedicated Server with Crash Detection
updated to 0.13.1 and I'm not sure about the desyncs tbh, I much rather prefer to rely on wube there (they usually get things stable without desyncs rather quickly) but I can think about it, perhaps Ill find a good solution for it + yes, I do not always sit by my computer (Watched Indep. day resurge...

any chance that you guys made sure admins get in despite the limit? (or do we have to sort that ourselves by kicking people from the console first :p )kovarex wrote:Thanks for the report, is is fixed for 0.13.1 now.

Re: [Server] Peer Status (JSON?)
It's actually kinda added with the /players command you can do now, plus connecting with RCON allows you to grab the list of players and parse them with a script.malk0lm wrote:+1 for adding this to a future release.
I'll see what others and me can do with this =)

Re: Server Query
I guess you could achieve a lot of this stuff using the added rcon feature, at least /players is a command that would give you some output to work with

used mccron (https://github.com/barneygale/MCRcon) and was still able to gracefully shut down, running a linux centos 7 0.13 vanilla server

Re: [0.13] headless with rcon - crash on ctl+c
I was not able to reproduce this, did you try connecting to rcon and not connecting? I just started the server, let it initialize then hit ctrl-c and it exited gracefully. I also started the server, let it initialize then I connected as a player, hit ctrl-c and it exited gracefully. (I was not able ...

Plain text password in server-settings.json
The file given for --server-settings requires me to enter a plain text password to my account when listing the server for public visibility. I would much rather prefer not to give the factorio server bin read permission to my password in clear text and would like to suggest you stick to tokens the w...

adding to this, it would be super helpful to also post a utc time stamp on the same line so we know when this happened without having to calculate game tics since start

Re: [Vanilla|0.12.35|US] MP Dedicated Server
my point here is not to start arguments or flame wars. but for new people like me its kind of discouraging to join a server to have fun when somone threatens to ban you within the first 3 minutes of joining. Factorio is especially sensitive to latency, all players connected to a game session needs ...

It will allow me to more easily use whitelists, hopefully to the point where I can take on some mods and keep the server running a bit longerWalkinTalkinHawkin wrote:Hopefully 0.13 will finally put an end to this :/
