With only the mods "Portals" (0.4.9) and "The Blueprint Lab - Credomane" (0.17.7) active, if I follow these steps:

1) start Factorio
2) start a new game
3) enter the lab (click button "TheLab" in upper left corner)
4) try to place a ghost of a wooden chest (or anything else I tried)

then Factorio ...
