Just had a crash with 2.0 .72. Not sure what triggered this but I was using the mouse, SteelSeries Rival3 to Zoom into the Plastic / Lubricant plant on the South edge of the Nauvis base and the screen froze followed by the crash dialog.
Beyond that I don't think I was doing much unusual TBH, been ...

Re: Version 2.0.42
Just noticed while playing 2.0.42 that when I updated bulk inserters to stack inserters that the replaced bulk inserters are dropped on the ground with a red x through them and are picked up by another bot and taken to storage rather than the bot delivering the stack inserter taking the old one away ...

Re: Molten iron/copper on Nauvis and Calcite demand
I'd love to have *some* extra complexity (your supply chain gets easier with molten metals after all), but not to the point to render it impractical to do at all.
I really don't see how this is impractical, or where the sweet spot in terms of complexity would be for you? If an extra ingredient ...

I think I may have this too. I was hands off keyboard while landed on Gleba while a few space platform were on-route.
Didn't notice if Auto Save was in progress as I was looking away from the screen at the moment
Attaching anything that might be useful

Re: Friday Facts #381 - Space Platforms
Hmm... The surface texture of the platform seems a bit noisy and quite hard to look at. It's all blending into one mosaic with other entities on the platform due to all those small bits and pieces on the surface. It's pretty hard to tell where the entity begins and where it ends

Ooooh, even above the new gameplay angles the look of bases with elevated rails could be amazing.

Re: [1.1.61] Running out of disk space corrupts game saves and results in crash on restart
Yeah, does seem like a fairly extreme edge case and I do have a workaround (1Tb NVMe SSD on order to replace the 250Gb SATA SSD that my son filled up with a Valorant install ...)
The OS is Windows 10 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1826)
During the "disk out of space" event I was getting messages from ...

[1.1.61] Running out of disk space corrupts game saves and results in crash on restart
Ran out of space on C: for the %AppData%\Factorio\saves during a game session and Factorio attempted to save the _AutoSave and main world save but these seem to be corrupted and now crash Factorio on load. Steam also managed to sync these corrupt saves to the cloud and I was down to the oldest ...

AS allways thx for the update.
Improve performance of querying if an entity is registered for deconstruction from O(N) to O(1).
O(N) to O(1) is a big gain but a can't imagine how often it appens?
Ooooh, I have just the test. An utterly chaotic 7k SPM base that drops to a painful 0.2 UPS ...

Re: Friday Facts #342 - The new old tutorial
I'm torn about this. I picked up Factorio several years ago and started with the original tutorial, I think. I was barely 10-15 minutes in and still confused by the control system (I'm not a hard core gamer and only ever play Minecraft on Creative) when I was getting jumped by Biters and after my ...
