This thread has me curious now...

In mods where the fluid physics aren't changed but the pipe capacities are, what's the maximum throughput for the different pipe sizes? Basic iron pipes have a capacity of 10, so a capacity 5 pipe might see all of those fluid/sec calculations halved?

I'm almost sure that setup wont work full speed. the red circuits assemblies will be waiting for cable, because the cable assembly will be waiting for copper that the one fast inserter cant provide fast enough. With blue assemblers it runs at full speed. Just tested with yellow and... It's pretty c...

I noticed this too on corners in the demo, but something interesting I saw was that if two items on the belt were next to each other then the inserter would go after the first one, not be able to get it, then go for and be able to pick up the second one. I'll test and see if a constant stream works....

In the demo versions I've played (0.11.22 and 0.12.10) it is not possible to run between wooden chests, yet it is possible to run between two assemblers and plenty of other things. The wiki page for furnaces at https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/index.php?title=Furnace lists the speeds of stone furnaces at 1 and the steel/electric ones at 2. The individual furnace pages also list the furnaces as having those speeds and explicitly say it's 1 item per second for the stone furnace ...
