Re: Friday Facts #328 - 2019 recap

Either he's drowning in all the steam money or kovarex is up to something new. As mentioned on the reddit discussion: WoW Classic ate a chunk of his time around its August release, and even without that he makes high-level decisions about game design even when not making commits directly. Re: Friday Facts #321 - Countdown

Am I the only one who feel some anger on this 1.0 annoucement? I hope everything is ok.... I think it's how Czech people speak in their native tongue with expressions that translate poorly into English regarding the emotional message. "Wouldn't be a catastrophe" problably means "it's...

Re: Friday Facts #316 - Map editor Lua snippets & Non-colliding Biters

The non-colliding path finding of the biters looks way better. That said, it feels like a dirty little hack. There ought to be a better way, a middle way, less hacky. Ideas in my mind on how to "improve" pathfinding: If the planned path is blocked the biter should wait a second before plan...

... I don't know about you, but I come from a time when you didn't have the more detailed view when zoomed in to radar-covered areas. I don't really use that feature much. Maybe place some ghosts, or change train schedules, but that's about it. Otherwise, I tend to go to that place myself directly ...

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable

When you are not teleported to the dugneon and have to actually travel there, it keeps the immersion of the game, the world is there to be explored, not just an arcade where you push and play. Can you please make the detailed radar view in the normal game way worse than it is now? We have the map. ...

Re: How to get a job in the games industry?

There's tons of demand for people who are able to program. It's just not very visible and it's often not related to games. The day-to-day work is very similar, though. Being in the game industry can be very stressful and often you don't really work on the nice fun parts. You also often don't work on...

Any information about the reputation (and/or previous projects) of the team(s) behind this project ? I tried to find something but didn't come up with anything besides the kickstarter project. The names sound Chinese. The presentation is professional. The pricing is realistic for China based manufa...

Re: Order your first real inserter today!

I found an online design tool for robotic arms here: https://robolink-designer.igus.tools/construction

Just click the components on the right panel to add them.

You can also change to the second tab to move the arm.

Order your first real inserter today!

On Kickstarter there is a project to make relatively inexpensive (~$500) inserter arms and they are available for preorder. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mirobot/mirobot-6-axis-mini-industrial-robot-arm Just look at the videos. A dream is about to become reality. Note: I'm not affiliated to t...

You need lasers everywhere. Imagine this instead: Normal biters cannot attack walls and fortified p...
