Re: Friday Facts #327 - 2020 Vision
There is a 0% chance I would have ever heard of Factorio, much less bought it if the game wasn't on Steam. I already had a payment/trust relationship with Steam that I wouldn't have been willing to create with some random "Wube" company. Of course I wouldn't have gotten that far as my onl...

Re: Friday Facts #327 - 2020 Vision
I have a potentially simple solution ... E: Upon further consideration, Welcome to the rabbit hole! One of the things that Kovarex and I agree on, is that the burner phase of the game is currently the right length. Any shorter and you may as well remove it, and any longer it would become annoying. ...

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction
I already have issues to see trees on the map preview and the new color scheme doesn't make it better. As an example: I can see that there are trees on the left side of the slider but i barely see trees on the right side - only a few 'brighter' dots within the red circle https://imgur.com/a/L9Xi1kl...

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction
Yeah I'm not gonna even try for subtlety, this is straight up awful. I follow FFFs dilligently since almost the absolute beginning, and this has to be one of the worst ideas you guys have presented, if not the worst. It is that bad, sorry. The upped saturation and brightness is hard on the eyes, doe...

It follows a very similar formula. Play it!Unknow0059 wrote: βSat Oct 12, 2019 12:11 amAt a glance, that gear game looks like something Zachtronics would make.

Well, yes, a lot of the big ones date back to the 90s.BlueTemplar wrote: βSun Sep 22, 2019 4:00 pmOughties I could understand (and even RockPaperShotgun seems to have gotten worse in the recent years...), but game journalism websites in the 90's ?!?

Re: Friday Facts #313 - Light at the end of the bug tunnel
This is probably why you shouldn't have admitted it. Because some out-of-the-loop journalists decide to put a spin on it? They'd find a way either way. This loose approach to game development however does seem to be paying off, especially when smart people know exactly when to take a break. Agreed.

What an odd angle in the PCGamesN article. Like devs announcing a break from bugfixing is some kind of negligence.
Good to know there's progress being made on the wretched fluids, and the bugs in general. Nice landfill redesign too, reminds me a bit of oldschool isometric games.

Re: [MOD 0.17+] Industrial Revolution (0.99.x)
Just playing around to figure out how to make stuff and how to better at least start the game (because first time i just done a 6hour hand crafting list) and so im starting to get the hang of it ... And surprise i'm making water out of nothing testing stuff around, bad point is you can not really g...

Re: [MOD 0.17+] Industrial Revolution (0.99.x)
Iron situation seems tenable, I'm dealing with it right now. I set up a forward base where I smelt ingots into chests, then I ferry them back to main base while I have an assembler dedicated to crafting rails. It goes pretty fast, soon I'll have a train ready. I've noticed a lot of iron era research...

Noticed something a little odd with the autoforester. https://i.imgur.com/MuX1gBX.png I assume the negative pollution number means it sucks pollution up? Makes sense, it uses CO2 from the environment around it to grow trees. No complaints. https://i.imgur.com/oQ9MMdu.png But in that case, it's weird...

Only one little constructive suggestion, maybe make the rubble extend out of its tile more? Might help with the odd tiled look. I can assure you, artists would love to do that :D Didn't expect it to be problematic, considering no moving entities can ever be rendered behind the rubble. I suppose it'...

Re: Friday Facts #310 - Glowing Heat pipes
very nice concept, but i'd say it's not visually perfect yet. Especially i think it's too bright, and maybe the color tone could be slightly altered? dont know, maybe it's already perfect when it's darker. kinda like this? I'd contest that. The pipes may look intense against a dark background, but ...
