seeking advice about Collision Masks

I've got a mod that alters recipes to produce useless byproducts. You can sequester the waste into polluting tiles called "garbagefill" (based on "landfill") and each garbagefill is made of 100 waste products. The whole point is that you must eventually cede real estate to seques...

Re: The perfect Factorio computer

Just a reminder- you actually don't need amazing hardware at all. I beat vanilla handily on an ancient macbook air with just 4 gigs of Ram and the only slowdown was during autosave.

Yeah, I'm aware you can input heat into a assembler. But I want to output heat from assembler.

Assemblers could implement `heat_buffer` to output Heat via Heat Pipe?

It would be nice to have assemblers output heat as reactors do. https://wiki.factorio.com/Heat_pipe says this is not _currently_ possible. Investigations show that it's not possible to create an assembler with heat_buffer nor output heat via a heat-pipe from an assembler. local assemblingMachineEnti...

Re: Nerf the Portable Fusion Reactor?

I mean that "vanilla always has priority over mods" and "The devs are not going to change Factorio to suit your mod, unless it proves VERY popular." Wube does, and should, prioritize vanilla over modding. It's not to imply mods are not awesome, simply lower on the totem pole of W...

Re: When can I (safely) start with nuclear power?

What are afraid of? Running out of fuel for your reactor? Meeting the electrical needs of your factory?

You should build your reactor somewhere out of danger- it will meltdown if it takes damage, so that is something you should be afraid of.

Re: Tool "Durability" needs more flexibility

For anyone arriving here late, Tool "durability" is not the best way to model "potency." The correct approach is to use EntityWithTags to create an item which represents many items as a number. Please refer to the https://mods.factorio.com/mod/deep-storage-unit for an example of ...

Re: Nerf the Portable Fusion Reactor?

You make provable claims, quite uncivilly I might add, then neglect to to provide ANY sort of backup? I'm open to almost any dialogue but this isn't dialogue- it's trolling.

Ok, whatever. I guess I'll pray for you or something?

I've made a poll which I think captures much of the ideas of this thread. It's got a lot more options than this threads poll, so please hop over there and vote.

Re: Nerf the Portable Fusion Reactor?

Forcing is never fun. Are you "forced" to play by the rules of a game? Well, yes, that's how rules and games work. Are you forced to not double-dribble when playing basketball? Yes, that's how basketball is played and it's fundamental to the game. The rules that comprise the game itself a...

Re: Nerf the Portable Fusion Reactor?

P.S. As for realism, PFR it's just like RTG that works for years without refueling. And yet, in reality even RTGs require fuel. Perhaps it lasts for a looooong time, but not infinite amounts of time. An non-infinite RTG fuel source would be great- a low-power but long-lasting power supply would be ...
