Re: [Polls Closed] The signals
More colors: No good idea! It spoils the inventory. It doesn't make anything easier. The current two are in my opinion already too much (but I can live with them and they look nice) and there is always a way to reduce two wires into one. I challenge you to make a deterministic perfect alternator wi...

Re: [Polls Closed] The signals
I really like the idea of a wiring-view, like in Gunpoint I guess (http://gunpointgame.com/)
I'd also like more colours, but at the same time, limiting the number of colours makes for more of a puzzle.

Re: use powers of 2 for logistics
Power of 10 dosn't mean in my eyes, that it is 1, 10, 100, 1000, more like 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, etc. Those would be powers of money, since most coin/banknote systems use that ;) :o There's even a wikipedia entry on number systems like that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferred_number But personall...

Re: One way Pipes
That's called a "reduction valve" or "pressure regulator". It can regulate from the high pressure at the refinery side to a lower pressure at the tank side. In- game it would also need a GUI where you can set the target pressure. It's a valve that can have a high pressure at the ...

Re: A little bit about water
If water could be used up we'd also need rain or rivers, for why would there be water somewhere in the first place otherwise? This could be simulated by making water tiles slowly regain water over time, but would it actually bring much gameplay wise? Rivers could make for an interesting addition giv...

Re: Tech (production) tree / Factory plan
If it gets that big we need a better interface. At least the Warzone tech tree is mostly linear.
What would help planning your factory is if we could have a little help window showing the tree for what we want to build.

Re: HELP : evenly feed a full belt onto one side (side inser
Any kind of wiring solution tend to grow in complexity up until the point you realize that half of it isn't even needed. I have that a lot too :D EDIT: Ah, no, I'm pretty sure that your system produces the same errors as my #1 schematic -- i.e. 2-1 splits when the system recovers from 1-side input ...

Re: HELP : evenly feed a full belt onto one side (side inser
Actually, you where very close with your first design! Factorio_even_sided_insert.png The change I made there was to make the final inserter a smart one that only works if the first two boxes contain 1 item. Inserters 1 and 2 only insert when their first box contains no items. Inserters 3 and 4 only...

Re: Payment method: any other Dutch want iDEAL?
While iDEAL is a great and easy way to pay online, it only works in the Netherlands. This means that the devs would have to open a bank account with a Dutch bank before they can even think of setting up iDEAL. All in all I think it would be way to much effort just to serve the Dutch customers that d...

Re: "until we have assembling machine with pipe"
My expectation, as a new player, would be that an assembly machine makes "things" that consist of distinct components, while a chemical factory makes "materials" that are uniform in their consistency. For example: A battery consists of an anode, a cathode, electrolyte and a casin...

Re: HELP : evenly feed a full belt onto one side (side inser
Interesting solution! I guess you've set the first two smart inserters to only pick items from the belt when the last box is (almost) empty? Thus ensuring that they both will always be able to offload their items, or they both stop at the same time. But why do you need those other two smart inserter...

With a side-splitting function on the splitter + a funnel, that could be done in 2x3 instead of 4x4 (or 4x6) and be a lot clearer...ssilk wrote: For example I saw today this https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 636#p23636 .

Re: Transport Belts reworking
I would say the belt should push the item a bit further onto the empty space, so it's clear the item has landed on that empty space. The problem comes from the item stopping right on the border, with its centre point just across the border. That would make sense, since it would mimic real life. At t...

Re: Conveyor Belt Router
I would also love to see: a second mode for the splitter so it separates the streams by side. a "device" to merge both halves of a belt onto one side. The second one (a simple piece of metal really ;)) can either be a single one with a side-toggle, or two different ones (merge left or merg...
