Re: [0.11.11+] FARL 0.2.4 (Rail Layer)

If it's that exact spot only, then I would guess it had something to do with the pathfinding, since the direction you're building (south) is against the allowed traffic direction, and one of your engines isn't past that one-way signal yet.

Which isn't a problem since you can't setup turrets anyway :P

There would then be just as many complaints that the buttons are too small.

Re: [MOD 0.11.x] Mining Drill & Better ore storage

He'd have to do all the ores in question (which you didn't list) manually. Not particularly practical, IMO. Perhaps it would be possible to read all other items on load, and create compression/decompression recipes on the fly (with a generic icon mind you), but I'm pretty sure that's not possible ye...

Re: USA vs UK! A 2vs2 PvP Series!

Having a skeleton factory already in place would speed things up. (i.e. one each of AM/furnace/miner on the path from ore to science 2) A big part of the first three+ episodes has been dedicated to deciding on the basic layouts. If a bare-bones setup is already in place, and easily expanded, then mo...

I want everyone to remember that it could be worse.
I do still have that zip locally, and can re-upload if anyone wishes to fully experience that... experience.

Re: [MOD 0.11.3] Replicators 0.2.1

Remove the relevant tech entr(y/ies) from the lua files?
If they're an initial-unlock (been awhile, can't remember), then just set their recipe entries to "enabled=false" instead of "enabled=true"

Alternatively, self-discipline. :P

Re: [0.11.11+] FARL 0.2.2 (Rail Layer)

Contrary to popular opinion, being louder doesn't make words translate better.

Right, duh. Forgot about those.
I can't wait for them to finally decide on a version to make stable so that I can justify getting back into this, and stop forgetting details about mods I enjoy.

Re: [MOD 0.11.x] Mining Drill & Better ore storage

I prefer setting up a chain of 3-4 chests and having inserters place ore onto belts running down each side, to take advantage of the stack bonuses.
Being that this problem only occurs at the top two levels, the area of each drill is large enough to deal with this extra infrastructure.

Re: [0.11.x] Uranium Power

Perhaps I've been spoiled by Smart Circuits, but I thought that pumps were always controllable based on signals when connected with red/green wire, and not just in that mod. I never found a real use for controlling them based on signal until I started using SC, and it's fluid sensor. Without that, i...

Re: [0.11.x] Uranium Power

All you would need is a way to read the fluid amount/level (and temperature in this case). Just the Smart Tank from Smart Circuits would do the trick, when coupled to a pump or inserter circuit. Throughput doesn't really matter, since having too little throughput would trigger the low level, and too...

Re: [MOD 0.11.x] The Fat Controller. Remote train management

Not sure why you'd need to go all the way to the high unicode range to add some basic symbols.
CP 437 should have what you'd need, and is *a lot* more likely to be supported, not just in Factorio, but in all circumstances.

Re: [0.11.x] Uranium Power

Unless I missed something in the last few patches, there's no way to get a signal based on fluid amounts or temperature in Vanilla.
Plenty of modded ways, sure (I favor Smart Circuits personally), but there's a solution to every problem once you start including mods.

Re: [0.11.x] Uranium Power

If you got it to be a constant output, then it would be a matter of how many in a row would you pipe through.
Variable output has no easy solution in Vanilla.
