Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring

There's a tiny detail I missed: If both WireConnectors are alive (not ghosts) can a wire connecting them be a ghost?

Re: FFF is killing me

Now that I think about it, is 2.0 really coming out at the same time as the expansion? Was this even said or implied anywhere? When you say β€œ2.0” what are you referring to, specifically? Specifically, I am referring to the next major update that will most likely include the vanilla changes they men...

Re: FFF is killing me

Factorio Friday Facts did change huh... I don't like the current ones for two reasons: Upgrades for the base Factorio experience are still golden, but the bittersweet issue is all of that is 2.0 which is more than a year away. I wanted the bot buffs for so long it still feels like we will never get ...

I think there's a better poll out there, anyway.

I think there shouldn't even be a poll to begin with, especially not with individual names. (Besides where's the Baseline there?)

Re: Quality Poll

If the names would be replaced they should be replaced with names that actually describe quality: Decent Good Great Excellent Perfect 'Great' is is rather hyperbolic compared to the other terms here. One might use it colloquially, but it doesn't really fit on a 'formal' list of quality names. And i...

Re: Friday Facts #377 - New new rails

I wonder if we will also get better schedule management. They did mention something about controlling the train system better in FFF-373 . Refuel and depot stations come to mind here. The ability to skip a station in the schedule if a certain condition is met, or test if a certain station is availab...

Re: Friday Facts #376 - Research and Technology

I think FFFs need spoiler sections now for the expansion. I would like for a way to skip reading about the DLC, because for the first time I am finally going to have the chance to experience a "new" Factorio blind, but at the same time I don't want to miss the news about improving the base...

Factorio largely centers around consistency, particularly for blueprints.
Sure. For brainless noobs that only know how to play the game by filling in someone else's main bus blueprint.
Well a big part of the game is blueprinting your own designs.

Re: Friday Facts #374 - Smarter robots

One thing about the logistic system that has been bugging me is how by default requester chests ignore buffer chests. In some of the use cases I have for them, I do want them to supply all requests , and it's super annoying to have to remember to check the "request from buffer chests" box ...

Re: [1.1.62] Freezing in multiplayer

Has anyone got any tips how to workaround this? When I try to convert (for example) one of the FLAC files in the Factorio Soundtrack, ffmpeg will generate the "video stream" of the (outdated) disc cover art even if video is explicitly disabled. VLC media player DOES read and display this v...

[1.1.86] Items jumping short distance on straight transport belt

When I look at the transport belt close to the player in the attached save, I can notice a tiny flickering of items jumping a few pixels. See the image. (Though it's easier to spot if it's in motion.)

Re: Version 1.1.83

Some feedback: You might want to default the layout to eastern if an eastern layout controller is detected. (Possibly add an option to default based on controller.) A lot of games make me unnecessarily fight my muschle memory as I stumble around the settings menu to fix the menu controls. I would re...

I was just complaining to myself how poorly controller support was implemented in another game the moment I noticed this update. Show how it's done!

I agree to wait for expansion 1.5 years and pay in advance 30-40$ if you promise that there will be train tunnels or ramps in the expansion.
Slopes!

Does the expansion have a working version on the Nintendo Switch? Just curious.
