Re: "[0.13]"-tagging for some time
I don't get autoupdate to 0.13 (experimental updates checkbox is off). I got game directly from factorio site, not steam. What can be wrong?

Re: FOOD!
Oxygen has some scale - how far from your base you can go without refilling. It also adds value to using vehicles.

Re: Blueprint Projector added to roboport
Not much use until you add something so it's not one-shot placement, e.g. some offset. Might be good for paving entire base or covering some region with solar panels or covering ore patch with drills with condition of enough ingredients and not so many ghosts (due to timeout).

You can put 3 underground belts covering same tiles if they have different colors.frostman64 wrote:I find it annoying that I cant run two underground belts in the same direction or opposite directions along the same patch of ground

Re: Factorio is not on Sale (Steam)
I don't speak about preliminary alpha period. I speak about the future. Fair price for what I got from alpha Factorio is $250. Only FTL and Mass Effect can match that. Point is that fanbase is roughly limited by 1M players - it is quite geeky niche indie game, and Planet Earth produces just that man...

Considering such things happen once in a year, why no? $5/year subscription for game that constantly evolves.

Re: Did splitters get changed for 0.13?
Checkbox on a splitter would be very handy telling it not to differentiate between left and right lane - would solve a lot of issues like that and will also allow small multi-belt balancers.

Re: Factorio is not on Sale (Steam)
I'd vote that any major addition to game (on the order of trains or roboports) is sold as $5 DLC add-on to those who already bought the game without such features, and base game price increases that value as well. I'm just afraid that fanbase saturates pretty quickly and at some point devs will be f...

What's up with the cargo wagons? Why are there 3 compartments? What's going on here? I think that's just to make it look more aligned to 6 inserters on either side. As for terrain - we need snow :) Heroes of Might and Magic 1 looks to me as the best reference about how much terrain diversity adds t...

With buffer storage tank it should work feverishly for much much longer until tank is full. Tank equals 250 pipes magically packed in 4 tiles.

Disallowing filtered items to go anywhere else
When one slot in train wagon is marked to contain turrets only, other (unmarked) slots start getting turrets anyway once this marked slot is full. This requires to mark all other slots with specific ore type which is a lot of clicks and prevents a wagon to be multipurpose on ore types. A question - ...

Train routing. Completely explained
Is there any document or probably a thread describing ALL of train routing aspects? Like that a programmer can code algo from. I do not mean proposed builds, I mean the exact algorithms they take, so I can prebuild stuff in my head instead of reverse-engineering it through experimenting (and getting...

Re: Ore patches covering each other
Smart inserters are just 30 bottles away from automation research - i.e. something you get for granted by the time you put mass electric drills. edit: another issue of similar type is when supposedly large ore patch is mostly covered by water, especially in starting area. I'd vote that such patches ...
