Re: Sound alignment is off

One way to work within the limitations is to perform granular synthesis : instead of playing 1-tick sounds that are intended to splice perfectly, play longer sounds that are designed to get overlapped randomly and blend together to the final result. It's difficult to obtain a precise result in game...

Re: How to interpret "probability" property expression?

Thank you for the explanations, i've been looking at it, will check further ,but no guarantees, i'd only update if i find something or if cannot make it work still :)

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

I don't get why you continue repeating what you say infinitely. It's not that people are too dumb to understand what you say. Your argument could also be applied to splitters - why have them work by clear and logical rules, when you can simply always have a full belt and balance consumption? Splitt...

Re: Robots generating endlessly new "music"

I don't know if it's a good idea to post those in here, they may be oversized a little, it's more as illustrating purpose, that it's quite easy to modify a module, while still using the others on the same machine, one instrument can be using one type of module , and another one another, if need be. ...

Re: Robots generating endlessly new "music"

Modular version number 1 ( the first that worked when reassembled) In the continuation of the previous experiment, i developped less the "robot" aspect, and tried to give more settings to configure for the users so that it's less playing a certain music by itself with many variations on i...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

I see what you did there : 33 pipes.jpg You used 3 parralel row of 33 34 and 35 pipes , twice which according to the wiki : https://wiki.factorio.com/Fluid_system is enough to carry the water for the 2 assemblies machines, since even 50 pipes would provide with 1000 fluid per second in such lane, an...

Re: How to interpret "probability" property expression?

That must be at least 3 or 4 years maybe double that since i read that in an FFF maybe not sure, i tried looking at the changelog for crude oil in the wiki to see if at some version of the game it was mentionned a rule for placement that would differ, but i couldn't find anything. I would have tried...

Re: Precision generic fluid routing and splitting

First I want to say I'm glad you like my maniac fluid sushi :D - If you push into a tank over 40% (10000) fluid full When attempting to redo the setup shown with the 5.2 and 10.4 leftover fluids with various starting of initial fluid in the left tank and using the feature of the editor to "tic...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

I have been patient thus far and do not like repeating myself. Anyone can reproduce those unpredictable issues in the editor within the first placement of a pipe as part of a pipe logistic. Saying that it is not a problem doesn't make it not one. Yes, very patient, i agree, but i am doubting someho...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

I have found a way to more than double the throughput from 1200 all the way up to 3000 fluid per second ! I think in no time it will become the new standard : Throughput optimisation.jpg 0eNqV1dtqhDAQBuBXkbl2l5w8Xvct2lJ0DduAxqCxVMR3b3a96EqlP3tpmPkYzE9mobqdtBuM9VQu1OjxMhjnTW+ppMk5PURtZXUkGWNvtu6977vt...

Re: Euclidean Algorithm for Greatest Comon Divisor (GCD)

Only if A = B it shows nothing. There could be a special derivation to show the number that's just 1 combinator connected to both constant and doing if A=B output A then a wire of the appropriate color to connect the ouput as both LCM and GDC. The same seems to happen if A is an exact multiple of B...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

I thought there could have been a misunderstanding between 1200 fluid per second for offshore pump and 12000 fluid per second for regular pump which could cause an unecessary worrying about max throughput of pipes and thought it could help to dispell the misunderstanding if one has been playing with...

Re: Euclidean Algorithm for Greatest Comon Divisor (GCD)

At risk of stating the obvious, if A >= B then neither LCM or GCD will get output. That is not the case to me. I'm not sure what happened during your test but i would rather suspect an overflow ? You can try with A = 125435 and B = 4234, or the reverse and the result are the same to me , and the sa...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

The standard pipe length between pumps is typically 17 sections, giving 1,200 units per second. According to who ? why 17 ? seem to me quite the arbitrary number. That is the actual measured flow rate in game according to the wiki: https://wiki.factorio.com/Fluid_system#Pipelines But everything thi...

Re: Friday Facts #408 - Statistics improvements, Linux adventures

I had no particular suggestions for the statistics, it sound already good to me that there is a possibility to show each planet stats or "global"(galactic ?/total ?/combined ?) stats. I think re-ordering the more produced/consumed item so that the second column start with the 2nd most prod...

Re: Fluid Mechanics Still Broken, 6 Years Later?

I will start with an example direct from one of the FFF posts. IMO that's a terrible example to show that "current fluid mechanic is broken", since we have no idea if it is using or not the same mechanic than currently. Another reason is that the original post is about the update order an...

Re: How to interpret "probability" property expression?

Sorry if that's not very helpful : i attempted to use the code linked because i was curious, but i got an error when using it as console command. I wanted to test an hypothesis, because i think i read something one time but couldn't find source that there are special rules for crude oil placement to...
