Re: Research Speeds
There is a research which improves research speed I believe, other than that, I think there's a point in it being slow.

I can see where your coworker got the idea to not do it yourself, it's a lot of work I imagine. But at the same time I share your though that it's a great advantage to have everything (or as much possible), made by yourself, that way you can optimize everything for your needs, and you know every fun...

More types of transport belts
Greetings everyone, first off I'd like to congratulate on the indiegogo campaign going well, I'm very happy to see that this game will continue full time development! Now, onto my suggestion. I had two new types on transport belts in mind, I understand that playing with the transport belts is part o...

Re: Hidden ores
Hm, well. We can argue about my method, I may have been quite rude... Sorry about that. I don't in any way mean to make it sound like I think you're stupid. Anyway, back to hidden ores! I don't think the idea per say needs to introduce new ores to work. It seems rather silly to find huge amounts of ...

You're a smug elitist who doesn't understand we are talking about SCIENCE FICTION not science fact. Nah, to be that I'd have to be in the elite, I'm not. Because writers of science fiction take what we know and imagine more. Please get that through your thick skull. I'm quite familiar with how scie...

Re: [French 0.2.6] Core + demo
Why not use git and github to host translations? In fact we could get something set up to host all the game translations, allowing people to simply edit the files and let everyone collaborate on it

Re: Hidden ores
The chance of finding a "new" element in nature, on this or any other planet, is small, very very very small. As much as I agree this game doesn't have to be built 100% of reality, and what is "realistic", adding an element not excising in the real world (and by that I don't mea...

something *new*. Just to know, what do you know about chemistry ? ^^ I know we recently discovered a new 113 element. http://www.gizmag.com/transuranic-113-discovery-claimed-japan/24318/ Besides, this is science fiction, not science fact. Reality can be stretched a bit. Discovered as in synthetical...

Re: Will this game go mobile
Considering that they'd have to re-code the game for iOS and Android, it seems very unlikely unless the game grows quite big.
I wouldn't count on it.

If you read the indiegogo page, it says: If you contribute to the campaign please send us an email at factorio@factorio.com and we will send you the current alpha version. Please be patient with us. We have been dispatching the emails manually so far. We love the feedback you send us a lot. In case ...

As much as I can understand your argument, you have to accept not everyone is the same.
Some people simply don't enjoy it when there's enemies running at you while you're trying to figure out the controls, getting you killed. (Not that I'm saying I want them gone, only some might)

You could always leave space between your furnaces if they filled the entire 2x2? It's not like you have to place them as close as possible

Just did a fresh download to check, the demo does work for me. (downloaded 64 bit .exe installer)
So it must be some issue with your specific systems.

Yeah it does look a little confusing, the furnace just looks too small to be 2x2, a change of texture could clear that up.

I definitely love the train idea, especially with having to set up signal systems and switches to be able to run multiple trains without running into each other.

Re: [Polls] Creepers in the demo
I like the idea of being able to turn them on and off, being able to try playing it as a free play sort of thing, just experimenting with factory setups, or doing a survival thing.
