Also I see that these ghosts are created when players connect after desyncs only (at least on my server).

I've got no evidence for it but I feel that issues might be related to trains & stuff.
It seems to me that hovering mouse over trains cause desyncs in certain situations.
And there have to be at least two real players connected.

Game just crashed after desync. After desync it downloaded map and during (maybe after) catching up changes it crashed.

On my server I see that all players are desynced at same time very often. Sometimes it's every few minutes.
This is happening after update to 0.14.3. For an example of mass-desync see time 702.007 at server log.
There's also attached client's (mine) log regarding desync on same server.

Hello, sometimes when I get disconnected due to desync of MP game desync pop-up is displayed for less than one second and then main menu is displayed instead. However when I connect back to server I see loaded game and desync dialog which should not be shown. If I hit Reconnect button -> game crashe...

Oh, mystery solved.
Rotation of blueprint is stored as global state and is shared for all blueprints. So the reason why that poles are misplaced is that I rotated other blueprint and this rotation affected also blueprint on screenshot.

How much memory are you giving to the process? It sounds like it ran out of RAM a long time ago and is constantly swapping to the disk. There is 1 GB of physical memory available and 4 GB of swap space available. When game is running and NOT saving it consumes around 700 MB (70 %) of physical memor...

Can you provide your save so we can investigate its memory usage? With save attached to this post it takes around 6 minutes to save game. iotop shows something like 100 MB average read and 30 MB average write by Factorio process from/to swap space during saving. I see it quite common on my server that players leave the server but their characters remain visible. Currently there is like nine such „ghosts“.
It also happened that such ghost player connected back and there were two players with same nick (ghost was idle after his connection).
