I don't understand where everyone is pulling these research numbers from. The research revamp will happen at the same time and prevent using the current research recipes.

The blinking is an artifact of the game updating pollution for each map sector once a second. It's all staggered so that sectors are pseudorandomly assigned a tick to be updated.

You do understand that they can't change the achivements system on steam, right? No custom marking there.

Be careful with active provider chests. They can easily fill your entire storage if you aren't careful.

As a native Swedish speaker i've tried typing swedish in the chat. It all works fine. Except that the chat is opened and closed by the Γ key, making it impossible to type that character. Sounds like it could be fixed quickly by checking for miners to reactivate when adding the resource. But, ehhh, not worth the effort. If i'd get to choose, I'd file it as a WONT_FIX.

And normal inserters fail to grab items from blue belts. This is a systemic issue and not limited to just burner inserters.

The game takes a few moments to load. During the load I have plenty of time to start Winamp and begin playback. But if I do this during the initial loading of the game, the audio fails to initialize. Note: Having Winamp already running when the game is started is not a problem. Nor is starting Winam...

First off, train signals don't allow this trick. Second, this trick requires a decent amount of precision each time it is used. Thusly, the potential for abuse is low.

I made the assumption that you would get a different inventory the first time you connect to a game and another when you respawn. The system is much less gameable if you only give freebies the first time.

Factorio is already setup to produce recipes, not items. Otherwise you couldn't do things such as the oil barreling while also making new empty barrels.

It's quite silly to be given the same inventory no matter how far into the tech tree the game is when joining a multiplayer server for the first time. Perhaps swap the burner drill for an electric drill once that has been researched? Perhaps add in some free belts and/or inserters when those have be...
