Re: Development and Discussion
Sheet coils are nice if you want to ship a lot of stuff more efficiently, at the small cost of needing to unpack them wherever they're needed.Northgate wrote:Could someone explain me how sheet coils are supposed to be used? I tried to calculate ratios but couldn't find a way to get a benefit from them.

Re: Slagless refining overpowered?
All these are good, foodfactorio, but how to get many many geodes for crystal slurry that then to mix it with mineralized water? I want to get a new method to get more geodes or new to use mineralized water You can also turn mineralized water into green algae (add a bit of carbon dioxide), which tu...

You can also scale up your slag processing.

Re: Development and Discussion
I think HF production problematically low. The problem really rears its head when you turn on fluids for infinite ores. It currently takes 10 HF to produce 10 jivolite ore. That 10 ore produces 250 fluoric waste water when floated, which makes 25 HF for a net of 15 HF. But you have to finish the ch...

Re: Development and Discussion
Bob's speed modules make it relatively easy to run into a piping bottlneck once you start churning out the tier-8's.ukezi wrote:to be fair you need to filter a lot to use the ~1200 water /s that a pipe gives you without problem. and at that point you need way more space anyway.

Re: Development and Discussion
I see. I always treated ceramic filtering as better in the sense that I could save my relatively limited coal for other stuff, and never noticed that it also happened to be faster. It also takes more water as an input which means more effort spent making pipes to support an en-mass setup.

Re: Development and Discussion
I noticed that slag processing was no longer a net SOURCE of sulfur, but rather a sulfure SINK. Was this intentional, and if so, was there any particular reason for this change?

Slag Processing and Sulfur
With recent changes to the ratio of sulfur involved in slag processing, processing slag is now a net drain on sulfur rather than a net source of sulfur (at least using ceramic filters). Is this intentional? To be precise, every time sulfur does a lap around the slag cycle you only keep 4/7ths of wha...

Re: Development and Discussion
Is it even possible to make enough mineralized water for use in crystal slurry filtering? Even using all my crushed stone and recycling all of my waste water, I barely have enough to turn the geodes from hydro refining into sludge. If this is the case, then you're doing too much hydro refining. I'm...

Re: How do you make mud?
No problem, I happened to run into the same problem and ended up checking every angel building ;) Angel: Maybe the seafloor pump could be renamed to "seafloor mud pump" or "sea mud pump" or even just "mud pump"? ^^ even though it was pretty obvious to me, I can see how...

Re: Best way to produce pollution?
Hi, I'm getting to the point where I want to farm some aliens artifacts as opposed to go out and clear out the bases manually, so I built a small output with sniper towers, train supplied ammo and an electric connection, this is placed in between several large alien bases and is already being attac...

Large are a teeny tiny bit more efficient.neoc wrote:Considering resources spent per power output, from a rough estimate I had the impression that it's not worth it going Large solar panels instead of normal. Also you get Large ones later in the tech tree. Am I missing something?

Re: [0.14.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion
What would it take to get a wood-->coal chemical plant recipe into these mods? It's a realistic process (albeit multi-step IRL) that would make wood much more useful in the mid and late game. As it stands, I find myself trying to update BurnTheWood from a 0.12 version and just hoping it works. EDIT...

Re: Angels refining in "Vanilla"?
if you're playing with it in vanilla, you can pretty much get away with just crushing and smelting, skipping the sorting process entirely unless you want slag to use as a sulfur source, or want the slightly increased efficiency. Note that each additional step adds less and less efficiency. Oh, and y...

Re: Angel's Refining and Smelting mods
Refining turns the 6 weird ores into vanilla-esque ores. Smelting is for output multiplication (though if you're playing with bob's mods, you'll get more multiplication out of a high tier furnace and bob's productivity modules)
They're two different things AFAIK.

fractalman, that was a most helpful reply, thank you! I think it's time to give it another go. Do you have any advice for dealing with the multitude of gases and liquids? I think I may start sending barrels of them down the bus instead of via pipes. Also, do you have specific ways to deal with slag...

Re: Show me yours...
Since I just recently figured out how to unlock it with the console command, I wasn't aware of the benefits dirt water electrolysis could provide. But sure enough you're correct, for every 100 units of sulfur water, only 40 is needed to create sulfur with the remaining 60 units free to use for the ...

Re: Show me yours...
The only real thing that bottlenecks this system is yellow sulfur water, something I haven't been able to barrel up in large numbers due to many sulfuric acid requirements other mods have. Quartz demand for petri dishes is heavy too, but easily remedied with a better mining setup. It was fun to des...

Re: Bob's Mods + Angel's Ores Help Requested
Where I am really looking to get advice is how to deal with all these new methods of production and tips/ideas/suggestions for setting up my base so that there's some rhyme and reason to the madness. Set up the angels ore processing AWAY from the main bus, and give it PLENTY of space. as you need t...
