Re: .15 ETA - how close is it?

Oh ok that makes sense. I only asked because Factorio is pretty much the only game where I don't even care about the "stable release". You don't need it because the experimental release is already so damn stable True that. The Bugfixes in the Changelog sometimes read like "fixed a bu...

Re: Movie Player

Now, the next question is, can we build a turing-complete computer in factorio? Should be possible.

Re: Please bring back the multiplayer

I honestly understand people playing on old Systems. But 64 Bit is around since 2003 and commonly used since 2005. This said, I do also understand game developers not supporting more than 10 Year old architectures. There has to be a line about what to support and what not. Besides, such an old Syste...

Re: What does UPS mean in Factorio?

If RAM is the bottleneck, thats... interresting. Do we have some kind of overclocker here that can check on this, varying the Latencies and stuff? The newer RAM-Technologies wont help because, as already pointed out, they mostly increase bandwith and not latency. So, if Factorio is dependant on that...

Re: RoRo vs Terminus (was Loop vs 2-headed train network)

Having played a lot of OpenTTD there are too many differences to compare. Depending on your mods, OpenTTD Trains can go both ways. OpenTTD has a lot complexer networks, with it being a Train Game and all. That said, the Terminus Station has one advantage in both: Less space. That leads to other adva...

Re: 0.15 release? I need it^^

I stopped D3 about four weeks after Release. Didnt get Reaper of Souls, didnt look into it anymore. D2 was great in MP but D3 was just too much of a Grindfest for me. I know, they might have changed things, but I dont feel like going back there. Still playing SC2 and Overwatch, though. The next bi-y...

Re: 0.15 release? I need it^^

I need .15 because we have our bi-yearly Clan / Group / Community Meeting next Weekend and im going to propose starting Factorio. And .15 offers great stuff for MP. That said, I know stuff takes time to develop. But you all know how the playerbases are, "mimimi, i want it now". Its hard en...

Re: Solar is BORING, here is why you should switch to steam!!

I use both methods Solar scales better, imho. If you need Energy, just place a blueprint for solar/accumulator. The "challenge" of setting up a new steam engine array gets boring after a while. On the other hand, Steam is much cheaper to set up and consumes less space. But it requires ress...

Re: No graphics card needed

Pretty sure a Windows (or any modern graphical OS for that matter) can't run without one... No User-PC can run without Graphics Card. Because its what drives the Monitor. A Headless Server (Thats whats in Datacenters) or basically your modern Router, thats a Computer without a Graphics Card. What w...

Re: Factorio Server in a Freenas jail

FreeNAS is based on BSD, isnt it? So... you would have to activate Linux Binary Compatibility.
I have never worked with BSD, but I guess its a ton of work. Missing Libraries and other stuff.

What I search for regarding Multiplayer

My Group and I are currently searching for a new Multiplayer-Game, and factorio, I really like that one. But we are a little bit different... We are all a bit older, steady jobs etcetc. What we are looking for is basically Sandbox with a little bit competitive / PvP play. So basically a round of Fac...

[0.13.13] Complex Circuit problem

First of all, I know this one is going to be hard reproduce. And there might already be a report on this, didnt find one. The problem is the following: Sometimes a more complexer circuit will fail to operate. The most simple circuit I had this on was: 3 Inserters in remote location on red wire fill ...
