Re: Version 0.17.36
I'm holding out for 0.65535.65535 stable. Because I don't think they're any closer to 1.0 than they were with 0.12.35. If I'm wrong, sue me; it's just an opinion.

Thanks for your help and insight on this.bobingabout wrote: βThu Apr 25, 2019 11:01 amit can migrate those too, not just entities, but yeah, there's no way to avoid the migration message.

Re: Migration file order
This is correct. This is because a JSON file typically replaces entities that no longer exist with a new version, or replacement, which needs to be done before the game is fully initialised. LUA is run after initialisation. Thanks, Bob. So, if we delete a recipe/item/technology, then there's no way...

Migration file order
As far as I can tell re: migration scripts, ALL json files are run before ANY lua files, regardless of their filenames or version numbers. Can someone verify this?

Re: Limit on mod dependencies
3820 That's the number of mods on the portal right now. So unless you have your own unpublished library of mods then you are at least limited by the number of mods in existence. I haven't heard of any such limit though so I can't really answer the question properly. Are you perhaps going to downloa...

Limit on mod dependencies
Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of dependencies you can specify in info.json?

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
Anyone plannign to write some kind of changelog preparation tool where you could enter versions and text and it would format the whole thing? That actually sounds like an awesome idea, and I would even be willing to do that, or help with that. With the stipulation, of course, that we get complete d...
Re: MINI MODS
@MindFighter: Wow, you definitely went into more detail, and it worked, because I now understand the concept you were trying to explain. However, it seems to be a little bit beyond my abilities to make it work in a mod. I know how to code in Lua, but have very limited experience with factorio mods (...

Pi-C: I agree 99.9999993% (sorry, rounding error )
I'm going to reserve judgment until I make the next update, but I'm leaning towards one of these possibilities:
- something doesn't work right for the very first time you upload a new mod, or
- the parser is just acting moody.

Re: Changelog tutorial
I wouldn't discount the possibility that the parser is just trying to mess with you ;) At least I had that feeling on some occasions. LOL, I try not to think that sort of stuff is happening, but you never know. And, thanks for the tip on the date format (including time) for same-day submissions. I ...

Re: Changelog tutorial
Yes, maybe it is just a syncing issue. But there was one full day in between the versions I uploaded. That's a long time to be un-synced. I notice that you have the "yyyy-mm-dd" format in your changelog for your LTN Tracker mod. This is the same format I used the first time. So, I think on...

Re: Changelog tutorial
Last time I checked "date" could be any string. It is not parsed at all and displayed as-is.... Except that, as I mentioned, on my first upload, my changelog was not visible at all. So, no parsing and no displaying. And no errors in factorio-current.log. So either no parsing was done, or ...

Re: Changelog tutorial
Well, I guess I found another example of "exact formatting required by the changlog system" that I had to discover by trial and error. When I uploaded the first version of my mod Scrap Library, I used the date format "yyyy-mm-dd" in the changelog. The changelog showed up fine in-...

In-game mod portal and version numbers
I recently uploaded a new version of my mod, and this is what shows up:
Is this expected behavior, or should the version numbers match up?

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
So, I read all of the posts so far here. I agree the error(s) should be more explicit about what is incorrect. I don't agree that any of them should be made more lenient. Factorio doesn't do "it's close, so I'll fix it" logic - the thing is either correct or incorrect - and in the case of...

Suggestion for 'Production Scrap 2' mod. DellAquila , please add to ' Production Scrap 2 ' mod a new item ' Quality Module ': * Level 1, -1% of scrap (or +1% yield) * Level 2, -2% of scrap (or +2% yield) * Level 3, -3% of scrap (or +3% yield) with maximum of 100% yield / quality per Assembling Mach...

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
To publish a mod, you would click on the "Submit mod" button near the top of the mods page. Then, it has a big box to click where you will actually upload the .zip file. You fill in a Description for it, then select a Category, and a license. Click the "Submit" button at the bott...

Re: Make the changelog parser more lenient, please!
I agree. I just added a new mod to the portal today. It shows up fine in the in-game portal, but doesn't show up on https://mods.factorio.com/mod/scraplib
No errors in the log file, either.
