Re: Anyone Ryzen Benchmarks?
Coffee Lake 8700K.. just for the record   im getting 42 UPS in the "Factory 1 568hour" map. Albeit my CPU is slightly OC, and my RAM is extremely OC (Teamgroup DDR 4133). This almost doubles stock Ryzen in factorio performance. But also my system with defaults is only like 33...

Re: Factorio for education - How does the licensing work?
How licensing works greatly depends on the laws in your country. Especially if the license partner is not specific. In germany i would be able to use factorio in school, be educated, teach with it whatever ,by their license, but not be able to copy it to 8 workplaces (copyright law). So i buy 8 piec...

Re: Friday Facts #219 - Cliffs
Why not make landfill clear out cliffs?
And the cliff tops need some shadow , because it looks like its floating. Makes the terrain not look elevated.

Re: Out of curiousity
It was just a thought, you know. Just to have the option and to decide to lower the output. Maybe it could lower the power usage then too? If you need to save up on power and you can't scale up for whatever reason. (a lack of resources?) Does a mod like this already exist? Is there a guide that cou...

Re: [MOD 0.15.X] Air Filtering
So the air filter machine takes a whole stack of filters ,so having them all fed via belts requires the first to be "full" and thus you need to produce hunreds of filters just for a few low lvl machines. Kinda silly bc you only need 1. This is just my opinion that is unintuitive bc 1 filte...

Re: The purpose of automation.
One thing that gets me over and over again, and prevents me from playing this game so much, is that you are literally automating and building giant factories for no purpose, what does it achieve in the end? French sociologist Roger Caillois, in his book Les jeux et les hommes (Games and Men),[7] de...

Re: Confirmation on Delete Blueprint Book
I deleted my book from the library  I made a silly blueprint, put it in the book. Then i picked it up (the blueprint was also visibly marked) and clicked delete. It said (in german) something like "no blueprint to lay down selected" and the book is deleted. Why? Well i just recovered...

Re: Factorio 2 dev
Factorio is long out of alpha, its been on steam over a year now. 0.15 is defacto released even thou titled "experimental", but soon officially anyway. That its not finished is no excuse, many games are extended while they are alive. Like Overwatch, Smite, Counterstrike, Battlefield, Call ...

Re: Friday Facts #195 - Poles re-design
I think the distinction of the poles has to have #1 priority. IMO the big pole's 2 tile wide base achieves this. But for medium to small pole i propose to make their tops stand out better. For example the wooden pole's top should be all wood. Or the medium pole having bigger insulators. The big pole...

Re: Pollution is counter-intuitive?
Your proposal sound abit similar to the leveling mechanics in Oblivion. IE the enemies are directly related to the player strenght.
The pollution mechanic is a strong strategic component in the game. You want arcade gameplay, not good for a game like factorio

Re: [0.15] Space Extension Mod (SpaceX)
Hi Aober93 If I can, I am going to make it possible for you to enable the vanilla marathon settings, and disable it from affecting the costs of the SpaceX research etc. This would be via a setting in the mod settings area. Since it would be a setting (on/off), you could still take the option of ena...

Re: [0.15] Space Extension Mod (SpaceX)
I think the high science cost gives it a marathon experience. If running marathon or a mod already, this experience kinda quadruples and beyond. Im not sure if that is ok lol So like my own marathon which is abit more costly than standard marathon, with standard 4x science. Youll need 100M iron 100M...
