Re: Any help with my Factorio fanfiction?
Have you considered just saying that it cussed him out, without needing to explicitly spell out the nature of the language? Why not let the reader imagine for him/herself what kind of curses a big biter might utter?

Re: Ruby
How to get a ruby? In copper or gold patches not too close to your starting location, you can find rocks that contain rubies. Mine the rocks by hand (or by personal construction bot) and you'll get a lot of rock and a few rubies. After you have a few rubies, you'll be able to synthesize them, but y...

Re: Moderate the post "Read this OR be ignored!"
Topic cleanup... I dont think the clarity is a problem, the post is quite clear and English wasn’t a problem for me at all. I’m a non native English speaker myself. I understand if you say it’s a cultural thing, and that doesn’t sound rude in the authors original language, but my only point is that...

Re: Train Signals
It still doesn't work, both trains are saying 'no path' In Factorio you can use right-hand drive or left-hand drive for your trains, whenever you have more than one track. However, you must always put the signals on the right-hand side relative to the train's direction . In right-hand drive, that m...

Re: Train Signals
So what you need to do is have a chain signal before the shared section of track, and a regular signal after the shared section of track. This way a train will only use the shared section if it's able to go past it, so it won't block the shared section and lead to a deadlock. You'll need to do this ...

Re: Unrighteousness in Factorio Forums from authorities.
It's hipocracy, because this forum by supporting ukraine supports political idealogy. There's one single thread about the Ukraine/Russia stuff, intentionally so that it doesn't take over the whole forum. Why are you wanting it to take over the whole forum? There are a zillion other Internet sites w...

Re: Larger area for scroll wheel interaction with input sliders.
Heck, I'd say the scroll wheel should work if your pointer is anywhere in the entire dialog. What else are you going to scroll?
Maybe if you're in the tab area it should scroll you between tabs, but otherwise, the slider at the bottom is the only thing that makes sense to scroll.

Re: is adandobed rail base possible to complete?
Yes, it's possible to complete. The primary thing I'd encourage you to watch out for is pollution. Biters are attracted to it. You might need to go easy on your base construction until you have more defenses set up. Some walls and turrets around your main base will make it much more survivable. You'...

But it has smiley faces all over it!
Or are those new?
To me it looks more like tongue-in-cheek humor, not rudeness, but without the smiley faces I think it would read differently.

Re: Fine steering control for cars using the mouse
Surely a truly serious Factorio player would have an actual steering wheel, foot pedal, and forward/reverse lever instead of using the mouse in the first place.

The obvious solution is to require players to have two mice, one for steering and one for aiming.

Re: Smoother vehicle control suggestions [0.15]
I've played games that use compass directions for driving, and it's terrible.
It's harder to go in a diagonal direction because you have to hold down two keys, not just one.
It's impossible to go in a direction that isn't one of the 8 points of the compass.
Factorio driving is fine as it is.

Re: Friday Facts #370 - The journey to Nintendo Switch
The reason why we still don't share specific details is, that we have to sadly inform you, that it still won't be ready sooner than in a year from now. Once the estimates get reasonably close, we will start dropping some FFFs. I respect your dedication to quality, a dedication practically unparalle...

Re: New Feature: Allow reordering logistics requester slots
There's already drag-and-drop reordering with stations in a train route. Could that be adapted to the logistics requests? "What if somebody needs to insert an empty row somewhere in the middle?" Then it can be dragged from the bottom always-empty row. Then after it's dropped, the bottom ge...

Re: Industrial Revolution 2 discussion
In general, you're not going to find gems until you also find bugs. So you'll probably need some offense in order to mine gems. I usually combine a rocket launcher with explosive rockets and a "turret chain" using long-handed electric inserters to clean out bases. In one 600 starting area ...

You can also see it on the map. If you hover over an ore field and you see little diamond/circle shapes within the borders, that indicates that the field has rubies, diamonds, or sapphires, as appropriate to the ore type. There's an example below. Also, it makes a difference how big your starting ar...

Re: Train giving "No Path" error
Thanks for the Help, I didnt know that you always had to build entire loops even if the train had a Locomotive on both ends You don't always have to build entire loops even if the train has a locomotive on each end. But then your tracks have to be bidirectional, which means you need signals on both...

Re: [QoL] Add a "Quick stack" button to chest
Not that this necessarily solves the problem, but you can do this with an assembler or other machine that takes ingredients. If you Control-click on an empty space in your inventory while you have the machine open, it'll insert as many ingredients as possible (up to one stack each) from your invento...

Hey, Deadlock, I want to say Great Big Thank You for your mod. I love it. Some things I wanted to say. 1) In your Industrial Revolution "1" you had 3x3 storage chests, made of bronze, iron and steel, they helped a lot with the game. When you made "IR-2", you removed them. Any pl...
