I got 2.
I set a very low bar when it comes to form and data field entry behavior in games, especially when keys can be mapped to control the game actions.
Nevertheless I agree that this is a fair expectation.

Re: Defence economy balance

Forgive me. It's just an easy topic to throw some basic math/gut/personal experience at. So I guess lots of people flock to it and enjoy "contributing"? And honestly, your initial post felt like exactly that mix of basic math/gut/personal experience which I guess ended up turning a bit ag...

Re: Defence economy balance

I think Nefrums wants them all to be viable and to not have one of them completely outshining the other so that only that one gets used. Or so that the "worst" one isn't accidentally used by new players because the are "tricked" into missing the hidden costs. Right, so we embrac...

Have you considered that you missed the point completely?
Apparently I have missed the point completely. I don't get why these parameters need adjustment, and why weapons need balance at all. It would ruin my fun if all weapons were made to effectively cost the same.

Re: Fluid Optimization not fixed for release?

Like it or not: You had to have had followed all of the FFF blog and related posts to get a good explanation of the current fluid system. Asserting any definition of real fluid dynamics upon the fictional universe in which Factorio is based, is in error. It is fair to want to know what that definiti...

Re: Defence economy balance

The problem i see it is the economy between different defensive strategies. Have you considered that your defensive strategies just need improvement? At Chemical (blue) science I'm still using Firearm magazines. I'm making Piercing round magazines to make Military science packs. And I don't let my ...

Re: Accumulator / Solar panel ratio

The Accumulator / Solar panel ratio theoretically changes during factory development. But for me, it doesn't really change at all: - When accumulator (and solar) tech is first obtained, I establish the ratio on a blueprint. For me it is 1:1 mainly because of the spatial design, easily tile-able and ...

Re: Add more information to entity descriptions

The devs have said before that they consider incorporating mods into the base game... but I think at least one criteria is its popularity and usage throughout the community. At least this idea was implemented in a mod already which is a step in the right direction. The Ideas and Suggestions section ...

Re: Logistic bot behavior (logistic zone and route)

One of the reasons why they created Buffer chests was to leverage them by placing them near key delivery areas to reduce logistic bot delivery distances for known delivery scenarios (i.e. restocking a players ammunition as they return from the field, resupply of outpost delivery trains). The key to ...

Re: Productivity module balance

I don't agree (about the use nothing but productivity thing). - Why even compare modules against each other? To me they're complimentary, unless you want to be single-minded. - Why do none of these kinds of discussions factor in beacons? - To trivialize power consumption, even when it's easy to acce...

Re: Enter should always "OK"

The "Enter" key on the keyboard is one of the most if not the most non-specific keys on every keyboard and should never be bound to any sort of definition or assumption. Its use is highly contextual and one of the most powerful keys for control and interactivity. I believe the complaints a...

This seems to be more of a rant that a willing to learn. A shame really. I thought the tutorial was quite good myself.
The irony that this very post is a rant is not lost on me. But I hope the OP got the same satisfaction as I am in sharing their feelings with us.
