Re: can you get lazy bastard in peaceful?
Enabling biters through commands would disable achievements. I just started games in peaceful mode and one with enemy bases none. Both showed the achievement as available. So if you just want the achievement you can still do it, but if you want biters also you will need to restart. (Personally, I pr...

Re: Choosing train and track sizes
1. Fuel train gets stuck behind other trains at the stop. So, cant have trains sitting at stops for long periods. I guess if you design it so your input stops or output stops are quick turn around, then it could work You could do a roboport at each stop as you mentioned, to reduce the need for belt...

Re: Lab Sophistry
What are you testing? How efficiently inserters load the labs? Research speed is (number of red science packs times research speed)/ number of labs. Assuming you do not run out of any science pack and you have not researched research speed. The number of each color science pack is the same for all r...

Re: Solar/Nuclear/Steam energy
I would see it as a convenience thing. You do not have to count how many solar panels you just put down and then calculate how many accumulators you need to match. It also makes sure you have coverage into the electrical network.

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
The blueprint window allows creating blue print books. You can store and use blueprints directly from the book.

Re: Choosing train and track sizes
A couple of questions: first, how do you fuel your trains? I tried a dedicated sector for fueling, but so much wasted time with trains going for fuel when not really needed (no way to say repeat pick up green, drop off at red, until low on fuel), and the fuel sector became first a bottleneck and th...

It sounds like you are using a mod. Please include the mod list so people that know about mods might be able to help. Pictures of your plant and a save file might also help.

Re: What's wrong with my Oil/Chemicals setup
Do you have speed modules in the pump jacks? They will pump the oil faster with speed modules. I think this would be a minor improvement, but possibly worth doing. If the light and heavy oil have no place to go there will be no petroleum made. But I think you would also be filling up the crude oil t...

Re: No Biters, Less Research?
That just removes the biters but leaves the science requirements. To me, you should research rockets (which requires military) before you can launch a one. There are science mods that change research requirements, so you could write one to remove the stuff you do not want. There might even be one th...

Re: is there any way to save blueprint as file
The blueprint window selected from below the mini-map (or default B, at least in English games) has two parts where you can share blueprints. The right half is used to share blue prints between games on the same computer. The left half is for sharing blueprints in an online game. And your English is...

The easiest way I know is to create a new one and delete the old. Then add it to the book and replace the book in the shared blueprints.

Re: feedback: train signals are hard
My 2 cents. Things in-game information doesn't teach about trains: 6. The color codes of segmenting rails with signals seem like they should mean something, but nothing anywhere tells you what it means when a segment is read, yellow, or cyan. If you are talking about the lines on the track when hol...

Re: problem with loading
The above answers are good. Some things to also think about if your factory is still starved. -- Is the ore backed up on the belts? If so, maybe a faster inserter will reduce the back up. -- How many chests are you loading the train from? You can reduce belt backup with slow inserters by using up to...

Re: The Feasibility of Outpost Building Trains
Zavian has the easiest answer.
One way to tweak it a bit is to use one chest and an inserter with stack size 1 for stuff you do not need much of that have small stack sizes like train stations, roboports and chemical plants.

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
Is it possible to flip a blueprint over vertical line, and if so, what's the key binding for this? Flipping a blueprint does not work. Think about advanced oil processing. The water is always on one side and the input oil is on the other. If you flip the blueprint you will have the water pipe conne...

Re: Is it possible to make a factory without belts?
I think I misread the comment on using trains. I responded to one of the other people trying to help and not the OP. Pure trains with no belts would be a monster. I tried setting up a small train based red science production. It was ugly. One thing I learned is that you can only put two factories or...

Re: Is it possible to make a factory without belts?
I meant using trains only . No belts, no bots - just trains and wagons. Theoretically yes. You start by running around like a maniac feeding stone furnaces and taking the copper/iron to assemblers to make components you can take to more assemblers so you can (repeat as necessary) carry them to rese...

Re: Choosing train and track sizes
@evopwr Xterminator did a series on sending supporters to space. The latest video shows one rocket every 10 seconds, so a decent sized base. One thing he did was take all iron from south east of his base and all copper from south west. So if he found a great copper patch in the south east he ignored...
