Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

The tutorial is not unfairly difficult if you're lucky or if you know the trick. This is not the hallmark of a good tutorial. I feel like it's also not unfairly difficult if you pay attention, do as you're told, and make a reasonable effort to predict the upcoming events. If you haven't noticed tha...

You're extremely limited on how many roboports you can use with modular armor.
You can use enough to extend your power grid and set up a full-size roboport, though.

I lost any ability to be shamed by a 9-year-old the day I played Fortnite with my nephew.
I have no problem being shown up by a younger player. But if a 9 year old can play the game, I am sure as hell not going to be banging my fist on the table screaming about it being unfairly difficult.

I hope you're agreeing out of your own nature and not because people arguing is the reason.
I'm agreeing because when a bunch of people show up to argue with you, it's nice to know someone agrees.

Re: [0.17] Did I get the campaign into an unwinnable state somehow?

I could... but it wouldn't do anything because it wouldn't have power... since I don't have any small power poles to connect it with. Well, there you have the real issue: you must have used your provided copper cables for something else. The game does hand you some starting resources, but then it d...

Oh man, if that doesn't shame the people complaining it's too hard, I don't know what will. :D

Many people use power armor with personal roboports as a construction suit.
Isn't this what modular armour is for?

Can't you change the assembly machine recipe and drop in the ingredients by hand?
Yeah, that's the problem. You can't craft copper cables by hand at this stage. This is never the case in freeplay, so if you've played before it feels weird.

Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

Hmm, on a non-looping track, do you need two train stops (on each side of the track) per stop ? Not at the ends. When you have a three-stop track or more, where one stop is at each end and one or more sit in the middle, the ones in the middle need a stop on each side - and the locomotive pointing t...

Or change the game settings so the biters don't aggro so quickly. I don't even like previewing my maps. I'm on one right now where I literally have no damn clue where any oil might be. Usually, in the preview, you can tell which direction it is and how far away. I didn't look. I don't know. I think...

Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

Well, I guess that by the time you get a fully maxed out PLD loadout, you feel like you've earned it ? Yeah, that seems about right. Although now that I think about it, one of my major objections to turret stuff is that you should totally not be able to just run into the enemy base and construct a ...

That breaks blueprints and limits player freedom.
Saying "but I already had plans" is rarely a meaningful objection. Neither is "but you let me do it before."

Things change. Adapt.

Re: Ctrl+Click Craft for Stack

What about a replacement? Instead of shift-click making everything, what if it made everything up to one stack? That would be the exact same as my suggestion, only you're now also suggesting to remove the original shift+click? Yes, I wasn't entirely clear. I wasn't talking about replacing your sugg...

Right now you can pick between 5 per click, and everything in your inventory. I really do think that a single stack craft would be a welcome addition.

Re: Ctrl+Click Craft for Stack

When does more become too much ? There isn't one right answer to that question, it's a matter of choice. I wouldn't care it more shortcuts were added, but I'd rather see the devs' time invested into aspects I find more important. Agreed on all of this, with one caveat. You and I almost certainly do...

Re: Friday Facts #284 - 0.17 experimental

(And Modular Armor is even farther than that, because it requires Oil and Red Circuits !) Right, but if you're going to reach far enough to get a car, it doesn't seem a whole lot harder to just reach for modular armour. It does cost like three times as much, and you need oil, and then you have to r...

Re: Ctrl+Click Craft for Stack

Obviously not, if people want to be able to craft full stacks in one click :) Imagine I have 400 iron plates in my inventory. I can make 1 gear with one click. I can make 5 gears with one click. I can make 200 gears with one click. If the third option is acceptable, why isn't it acceptable to craft...

Re: Ctrl+Click Craft for Stack

The penalty on handcrafting is that you need to have everything before you start, and you can only make one thing at a time. I think that's sufficient to convince people they need to make production lines.

How do I open the lab window where I can pick to research automation and other things? If you are not currently researching a technology, the area in the upper right tells you what key to press to open that window. By default, it's T.
