Re: Version 1.1.75
Just as I reported on 1.1.73, with 1.1.75 I am unable to upgrade from the game itself (1.1.74, macOS x64). It says no update available. The CDN is so slow, an full install will take about an hour to download. Sorry about this, I did the steps necessary to make the update package from 1.1.74 to 1.1....

This should now be fixed -- please let us know if you have a Mac build on 1.1.72 or 1.1.73 and managed to upgrade up, or if you ran into a problem.

Re: Reducing the number of categories
Dear mod authors, thank you for you suggestions! New tags and categories are now live on the Mod Portal . Please check if you're happy with the category your mod got assigned and feel free to add any number of tags which you feel suit your mod! Should you feel like any tags are missing, their additi...

Re: Reducing the number of categories
Hi, thanks for all the feedback! We're close to finalizing a minor overhaul in how categories work. As suggested, mods will now have a single category helping classify them, and multiple tags according to the content of the mod. The following categories are planned: Content : Mods introducing new co...

Whoops! Luckily only 8% of the emails have been delivered so far. I might also be able to redirect that URL in particular π€aka13 wrote: βFri Oct 28, 2022 10:38 amYou mailed the wrong link in the email, linking to the admin panel: https://admin.factorio.com/blog/preview ... ch-release

Re: Sound stopped working (after 5+ years)
For the change in the config.ini file to work, you would have also had to uncomment the line (remove the semicolon at the beginning). Glad you figured it out though. I know Donion is working as hard as he can to ensure compatibility across the board with the new audio backend.

Re: Bunch of errors 2022/09/21
Great news! However, it would be a good idea to add some kind of notice the wiki software is being updated, so people wouldn't waste their time with trying to resolve issues they cannot. You are right, I apologize as I hoped this would turn out to be less trouble than it did. There is a notice now ...

Re: [MOD 1.1] Kafkatorio - live updating web map POC
A timeline is definitely possible! (making a platform that would allow for that sort of flexibility was my intention). All the raw data exported from Factorio (by the mod) is stored in Kafka, which keeps it ordered. All it needs is some clever Kafka Streams definitions to window the data, and then ...

Re: [MOD 1.1] Kafkatorio - live updating web map POC
This is incredibly cool! I love web maps like this. The map being live is impressive by iteslf, but it might also be cool to have a slider to view the timelapse of changes.

Re: Factorio mod portal (in game and out) downloads throttled to 0 bytes/sec
Hello, sorry you're running into trouble with mod portal downloads. To help fix this, I would like to know if you encounter the same throttling and slow download when you use you browser to download the relevant mods from the web version of the mod portal at https://mods.factorio.com/. Thanks!

Reducing the number of categories
Hey, I think the number of categories on the mod portal is too high. People are often not sure which one to choose because their mod fits multiple, and few people actually browse the categories. As a part of a wider discoverability improvement plan, I propose the following new categories: Overhaul -...

Re: New API Docs website
Hi, in the meantime we've pushed out some more improvements to the new docs website : - Variadic arguments and methods taking tables were fixed - The sidebar is now collapsible - A consistent monospace font is enforced - Tables can be sorted just like on the old website - Styles were improved, made ...
