Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

Too much sugar. (but a rather subjective topic) I agree that the nighttime could be improved (i hate night vision, brrr) but these examples feel overboard. I dislike the blue hue. (the old night situation picture just looks much better, it has atmosphere, depth). The blue hue is like blue goggles no...

Re: Friday Facts #317 - New pathfinding algorithm

They are coming, we're all doomed! (excited!:D) In some way it feels sad ToGoS is leaving the team, but he done a great job ( the mapgen evolved alot) and i like the current maps alot. And i guess we'ra all happy we can consider it done and finished. Thanks you for your effort, and being part of Wub...

They were not really working since they did not recharge the bots. But it was a helpful feature nontheless.

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable

I'm enthousiast (and may go overboard xD) that we are on the same line about that convenience. It feels as a point others tried to make in responses earlier. Excellent post about the juke boxes. It was reasonable to pay for a song on these machines because they required a lot of maintenance and manu...

The 45° rotation feels off because nothing else in the game uses it. Everything else is normal isometric, so it looks very out place.
How does diagonal rails and diagonal (hazard) concrete rows look on them?

Congrats on your priest levels:p

My favourite is putting cars on belts. Rockets have been launched that way: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=193&t=67977&hilit=car+belt+allaizn https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=193&t=67977&hilit=car+belt https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=204&t=7259...

Re: Friday Facts #312 - Fluid mixing saga & Landfill terrain

Mixing only happens when you are actively adjusting the pipe network. As far as i can judge, the old fluid system (where mixing could happen) wasnt't that bad, IF only you could easily empty a contaminated fluid block once you made a fix, similar like how you remove wires: by [ctrl] clicking a pipe....

Re: Friday Facts #309 - Controversial opinions

tldr: Thanks for sharing these thoughts. Mainly i tend to like additional features, but they tend to introduce new inconsistencies or dependencies. It is a slippery slope which i cannot imagine without concern. -I see ballistic arcs as a improvement, but i also want to break a lance for my auto aimi...

Re: factorio splash screen recreation?

I looked a while, the only thing I found was a third oil pump (or at least the top beam) in front of the two others. Well done. The picture is quite old, and becoming more nostalgic. And as seen in fff 236, it is hard to intentionally make spaghetti. I think logic was never intended, since it introd...

Re: Deleted blueprint book

Hmm I found it very handy that blueprints are a separate file, crossing all saves, even multiplayer. This is a feature I really enjoy(ed?). I backup the blueprint-storage.dat on each experimental branch. (you could use the same disk, but I copy it to an docked external drive.) Also when there is a c...

Re: Friday Facts #306 - Experimental Demo

Thanks a lot for sharing these forum links. I appreciate much you both took a moment to point out that my statements are wrong here. The mind seems selective in remembering here, my apologies. I must have been confused by the official and unofficial (annotated) roadmaps, and this sentence in fff282....

Okokokok, people, sloooow down. We still disagree on the pick axe, I' was also tempted to reply, but i took a breath. I won't. not again. We passed that station. Let's try to stay reasonable. For some it had value to keep it, and for other not at all. Remember, just personal opinions about the histo...

Re: Friday Facts #306 - Experimental Demo

I apologise if a am wrong, but im left surprised on Klonan's response. I find it rather hard (titles, tags, official annotated roadmap) to search trough the fff's without having to read everything, but the last official mention about the library imrovements i could find was fff282. https://factorio....

Re: [0.17] Personal Defense TECH

Automating throwing grenades and automated shotguns feels rather dangerous, I'd imagine multiplayer, or where one passes your defences. Autotrigger on machine gun could be useful, but I don't see the point why they need to be in the armour (taking up space), since you still want to see which weapon ...

Re: Friday Facts #306 - Experimental Demo

The execution of this app represents f.E. a risk for the PC. Overheating and unresponsible up times, perhaps. Quite ironical as windows is the biggest threat here IMHO. Ok enough kidding. Isn't that warning standard on Windows? Everything downloaded from the worldwide scam net forms a potential thr...

To put it this way: I don't remember the last time the game crashed on me or the last time I wasn't playing on experimental. I've heard there was a version that broke all trains somewhat recently? Must have been during one of my breaks fom Factorio though. Had to look it up, but the the trainocalyp...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

Back to the bot crusade, don't think it's a problem for there to be a small window of usefulness for ground bots. Like BT said, bots make much more sense in logistic science, and I believe that they should just be a stepping stone to flying con bots. They serve as a minor "cookie" for the...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

Because then it would be another tech In the green science era. but i intend to agree on you. Engines in de recipe does makes sense, but it also shrinks the usefull timeframe of them because flying bots are close then (once you setup your first oil processing). On the other hand they may not be obso...
