Re: Friday Facts #351 - Beacon re-redesign & Simplified fluid mixing

I really like the new beacon design, looks cool but gives a lot of breathing room for the important buildings. Considering how low they are, will you be able to walk on them? :) I also think the in-building visualization of the modules is very cool! But you literally have a whole section on what is ...

Re: Factorio Paper Cuts

Display save date and time . Being able to sort by time or other things would of course be next level, but just adding one line to the GUI that displays the date and time of the save would already be huge. (I'm not posting this in the bug reports forum because Rseding91'll say "working as inte...

Re: Friday Facts #350 - Electric mining drill redesign

how steady and predictable they were, always outputting while at the ends for example. they don't, I checked :) Damn, you're right haha, the animation is slightly longer. Your brain makes it work when it isn't. :) I guess the fact that there is at least a perceivable relationship between production...

Re: Friday Facts #350 - Electric mining drill redesign

I'm not a huge fan of the new mining drills. I really liked the old ones, thought they were quite clever and I also liked how steady and predictable they were, always outputting while at the ends for example. The new design is kinda erratic - disturbing the rhythm and peace of the factory. :) Althou...

In addition, this new Coal liquefaction icon contributes to some trypophobiั feelings.
Damn, now I know why my eyes kept jumping back to this icon. It also looks a bit like eyes somehow.

Re: Friday Facts #348 - The final GUI update

I think most of the new icons look really great, good work! Some constructive criticism I have: Most critically, the (what I assume to be) nuclear reactor doesn't really work for me. It reminds me mostly of a radioactive diving helmet with bonfire logs behind it... Diving helmet.png Maybe the ...

Re: Version 0.18.26

Changes Disallowed saving over autosave files or making saves that begin with '_autosave'. Oh come on. I sometimes use autosaves to save something temporarily without any intent to keep it for longer. What about an option in the pause menu that performs an autosave immediately? Since the obligatory...

Oh true, I've even gotten notifications through that already. I think I falsely attributed them to subscription of the threads.
Pity for the other cases though.

Notifications for own threads, quotes etc.

Is there a way to receive notifications whenever someone quotes me, replies in a thread I created or even replies in a thread I posted in, without having to subscribe to every thread manually?
I didn't see any options like this in the settings. That would be pretty useful to have.

[0.18.21] Some sounds keep playing while paused in map editor

When pausing the time in the map editor, most sounds will fade out like expected but some keep on playing forever.

The ones that I noticed are combinators and nuclear reactors, though there may be more.

Re: Friday Facts #344 - Tile transition collisions & Team Steelaxe speedrun record.

Please remove the period at the end of the title of this friday facts on the main website. It bothers me. I'm having trouble determining which is more quintessential Factorio, that you posted this or that they responded by fulfilling your request. I wonder if they removed the period in topic title ...

[0.18.21] Undo in map editor a bit broken

I'm experiencing two problems with the undo functionality in conjunction with the instant placement functionality in the map editor: 1. If I undo the removal of an entity, that entity is placed as a ghost. Since every other ghost is immediately placed (or rather has the option to) this seems like an...

6,062 satellites launched.

Re: Alerts displayed under wrong icon

Alright, hopefully not intended in terms of limiting the usefulness of the otherwise very useful alerts though. More specifically, right now new alerts aren't even visible while there are still old alerts, which arguably limits their usefulness as alert . So I'm hopeful some of you guys will find ti...

Re: Rotational Assymetry - Different behavior depending on direction blueprint is placed

If that is the case, I doubt we'll do anything about it. The "fluid system" is a huge time-sink dev trap of never-ending yak-shaving. Unfortunately, it's also one of the major causes of frustration in the game right now. Not really. Most if not all players will launch their first rocket w...

So you basically finished the game simply by building an oversized bus? That makes the game seem almost ridiculously simple now.

Alerts displayed under wrong icon

If you have multiple alerts with different icons they are all shown together with the same icon.
You would expect to see multiple icons if there are alerts with differing icons (right now this renders the icon moot in many situations).
