Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

Hi there, For some reason holding down the middle mouse button zooms in and I cannot firgure out how to stopd this. Checked the conrtols like 5 times carefully going over all bindings but middle mouse button is not binded. I even changed the filter toggle which was default binded to it. And still, ...

Re: [0.17.54-2] Update planner actions continue after deconstruction planner

Thanks for the report. I could change this so it cancels the upgrade when they're marked for deconstruction but I don't really have a good reason to do that. I also don't have a good reason to leave it as is so... I guess I'll just wait until someone argues for or against changing it. just to be cl...

[0.17] My Defences Bluesprints

Hi, I built up my own defences blueprints that I believe work well, and thought I would share. Any suggestions for improvements would be gratefully received! 0eNrtXU1z3EaW/C99FhWob0DHmYmYi0+zG7GHCQejSbXoDlPd3GbTux6H/vt0kzQJy/USmUBRMQedZiyRqQcgH1DILOT7bXV1+7C5O2x3x8ur/f7n1YffXv/kfvXhn6P/PP/d9nq/e/rj+...

[0.17.54-2] Update planner actions continue after deconstruction planner

Just noticed that items that are set to upgrade, continue to be upgraded after a deconstruction planner is applied. In the image below, you can see the upgrade circle remains even though the deconstruction cross is also on the item. There are a few inserters in the image that have been upgraded leav...

But we could probably extend the first bounding box a bit, so both of them are not buildable, that would look more consistent.
I would prefer that, even though I would need to update my blueprints again!! :)

Thanks for the report however these things aren't worth looking into. It will never be perfect because the game only supports rectangular bounding boxes.
No Problem, I understand.

[0.17.54-2] Curved rail hit-box leads to odd behaviour

The update to the hitbox (show-collision-rectangles displayed in image) on the curved rail causes the situation where the highlighted inserter cannot be place even though it is farther away from the rail than the one already placed. (before you ask, yes, it broke a blueprint, albeit in a minor way) ...

Re: How old are the players of Factorio

Well, you may think that I am forty-something, but I couldn't possibly comment.

Factorio is a great logical tool for kids ... I tend to think that it "feels" like programming in an odd sort of way, so if you are intending to be an engineer, it will be great brain training.

If standing next to an active reactor harm your health, then very hot heat pipes should be usable to make a wall against biters !
YES!!! That is top factorio!

Re: What's the most simple way to learn to play Factorio?

I respectfully disagree with SkiCarver : I don't advise using others' blueprints at least not as long as you haven't come with your own solutions. Finding blueprints online is a "I win" button. However, if you come with solutions of your own, comparing them with other peoples' clever (or ...

Re: What's the most simple way to learn to play Factorio?

I would also suggest getting some starting blueprints. These can be placed and get you used to the basics of the game. Do a web search for factorio starting blueprints is one option. You could also look at some of the youtube video producers like Katherine of sky who include links to their blueprint...

Re: Should standing next to an active reactor harm player health?

The game is not realistic, Factorio tries to be a lot more. Sorry, I couldn't hear you over the noise of the 5000 oil refineries I had in my back pocket, and the whirring of the magic perpetual motion conveyor belts that run on pixie dust and happy thoughts. I can't think of anything more tedious t...

Re: Should standing next to an active reactor harm player health?

This kind of details are quite annoying if they are alone. It would not change gaming, but force just make more work and suffer delays. They would work if there was a proper model of health in the game and staying alive would be a essential part of the game. You should have proper food, water, rest...

Re: Should standing next to an active reactor harm player health?

I agree with the OP. It should be realistic like in real life. A few weeks ago I drove by a nuclear power plant, and damn, that radiation really hurts. I am really glad that I don't have to work there. For safety reasons reasons you can still check out what's going on within the nuclear reactor bec...
