Re: Pirating as a 'demo'. Your opinions?
In debate, their is a technique where if you know you don't have evidence or you can't prove your point, you make alot of small assertions all over the place. Start many small fires all over the forest, and your opponent will have a very very hard time running all over putting all these fires out b...

Re: Pirating as a 'demo'. Your opinions?
Pirating everything and paying for nothing will only result in seeing less and less of the games you love. Only if that money is the only way these developers can make a living. All this talk about starving artists, if only some sort of social security plan (welfare) allowed people to keep doing wh...

So the man wants to share his factory but doesn't want to let anyone know of the despicable deeds that had to be done to make it a reality. The poor working conditions, child labor, factory worker suicides, his private military force to suppress the employee riots, all of that. He wants to think all...

So you were talking about stealing webmail session cookies in response to a comment about end to end encryption in message transmission? OKAY, that makes sense! http://i.imgur.com/ko8Fyvb.png I don't develop my own tools for doing security audits. Do you? No? Then we both use other people's "sc...

That being said - even when mail crosses between different cloud providers, it often does so as plain text. Unless both yourself and your recipient use end to end encryption, there is no guarantee that your email will be protected for the entire route. Wha Wha Wha? Isn't this completely unheard of ...

I will have to check to see if Starcraft 2 has an always online requirement for single player. Unfortunately, it is not installed on my system right now. I do find it odd that I did not research that before buying the game :/ (I abhor always online requirements for single player games). I recall SC...

Re: Version 0.10.0
Got rid of iostreams? Mh, would be interesting to see why that did take so much time. I hope you didn't use endl for every new line, that would explain the long saving time. ^^ Iostreams have some ridiculous performance issues. I did some performance testing long ago and ran into things like cin be...

Re: Map Exchange String
It's super confusing indeed. And you can type something like "bear" in the exchange string and it'll work just fine, but you have no idea wtf happened and what kind of settings the game just started with.

"Graphics hardware encountered an error and was reset" sure sounds curious. I'm guessing this can't be reproduced.
Also why does the crash report say Version 0.9.8?

Re: [0.10.0] New modding possibilities
makefile and removepath have an issue which allows the mod to figure out username of the player by bruteforcing the path until a hit is found. Using a filename "../../../../../muzzy/Library/Application Support/factorio/script-output/test.txt" will only work if the current user is named &qu...

[*]Simple API to write to disk (makefile, removepath). EEEEEP! This is SCARY AS HELL! No way I'm EVER going to download mods again if mods can remove random files from my hdd. Surely this has some strong restrictions on what can be removed, right? Where's the documentation? Edit: it seems there are...

Re: When will there be an OSX Mavericks update? Please make
Ah, so it's the VRAM issue indeed. Redownload won't help, you'll have to edit your config file manually I'm afraid. There will be a fix sometime in future, but not in the next patch AFAIK. The config file is located in ~/Library/Application\ Support/factorio/config/config.ini, you need to edit under...

Afaik multiplayer will not require login, although we have been discussing requiring login to use our matching server (because of the bandwidth, again). ... I must admit just skipped the last two pages of the discussion, so maybe this is terribly offtopic in this thread now. Don't worry about skipp...
