[posila] [0.17.0] Game freezes at 'Loading sprites ... 94%'
I just updated through steam, and have tried launching the game twice. Both times it has frozen at 94%. It becomes completely unresponsive and I have to kill it using the task manager. I gave it over 15 minutes both times.

Thanks for the report.
Can you open Factorio properties in Steam Library and set launch options to,
then try to launch the game again (kill it as soon as it gets to 94%) and post new logs here, please?

Launching with those options loaded to about 94% and then all of my monitors went black for a couple minutes. Factorio (and Chrome) ended up with solid white windows and were completely unresponsive after that. Here's the latest log file.

That worked. Here's the log file, in case that helps anything.
I haven't started a game yet, but I did at least get to the main menu.

For what it's worth, I'm having the exact same issue. Happy to help verify if there's anything I can do to help.
Edit: was able to launch the game fine with the code from above: --force-d3d
But I'm still running into the issue I posted about yesterday here: https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comme ... on_017_is/
Some ore deposits disappear entirely from view when I get past the first couple zoom levels.
Second edit: turning off texture compression entirely seems to have eliminated the disappearing ore issue. Still launching with the --force-d3d code from above, which seems to be working.

I had this issue as well (at exactly 94%); disabling all my mods fixed it. I tried re-enabling them in groups; by the 2nd group it failed. (Angel's & Bob's). Adding either group first, they loaded fine. Tried enabling one by one; the more I added, the longer it hung at 94%, until eventually it froze completely at 94%. Removing one and it would load; add a different one and it would freeze.
Finally thought to check my setting; textures were set to "High"; pretty sure I had them on "Low" before the update. My graphics card only has 2gb vram, so I need to use low. Setting textures back to low fixed the issue, I can load with all my mods now.
