Thanks for the report.

Can you find Factorio's config.ini (in config subfolder of the same folder that contains the logs), disable gpu-accelerated-compression and gpu-accelerated-mipmap-compression? Remove leading semicolons and change values to false.

To confirm, I have (had?) the same issue, and the same fix works for me.

Can you please document that somewhere - like a troubleshooting Factorio wiki page /(with screenshots to see what "bug" to expect) or something that will go into 1.0 when it releases - these are edge cases but fixable and quite frustrating for users experiencing them. This will help them (even if it's 1-2 people) greatly.

For me there stays a remaining graphic issue, where while walking colors seem to oversaturate and some fine vertical black lines appear.

You can remove the artifacts by zooming in and out.

You can remove the artifacts by zooming in and out.

I had the same issue as this one.
I found it only happens on 16bit rendering, for me. I have an Intel 3000 builtin card only, which is enough to run Factorio, just.
I can send logs, etc. as needed.

Here are some successive screenshots taken as I moved around:

https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ ... F0162B5AD/
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 6B0E0889F/
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 71E3A97BE/
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ ... FD73F4E24/

Again, going to map-mode and back, or zooming, clears the issue. However, I think even on zoom there is a faint 'ghosting'. It looks like all tile-drawing has a kind of additive effect in 16bit mode.

Yep, I also tracked it down to turning off the "Full color depth" setting, i.e. enabling 16-bit rendering. We should probably file a separate issue for that. Have you done that already?

Thanks for the reports.
It should be "fixed" for 0.17.3

The game will run small compression test and if result is not what it should be, the loading system will be not use GPU accelerated compression. It is not ideal solution, for reasonable workaround for now.

You must all be working at top speed. Fantastic work on solving the bugs, but most of all on a huge new release with great new look and features.
Awesome!
