Sorry, I have made notes yesterday evening, but forgot to post it.
I deconstructed something and it goes pretty fast, but the chests where remaining. I wondered and looked: There was only one bot per chest. It took hours. The same is with belts, which are full of items...
I'm nearly sure I can remember, that this was much faster in previous versions.

It happens sometimes, but I have no idea why, because it is usually not reproducible (When I got save with this problem and built, filled, and ordered to deconstruct new chest, it was working correctly)

I had this but as well but couldn't reproduce.
I had a series of conditions happening togheter on that chest, probably we should compare notes.
My chest was built from bp
The chest was in a logistic network with an inserter which was part of the deconstruction job
The chest had the logistic wires attached before connecting the production group to the electric network
I had manually stored some junk in the chest before ordering removal
I might have interacted with the chest after the deconstruction began
Things I tried which weren't the cause
Building the chest manually on top of a bp ghost then ordering deconstruction
[i don't remember but were many sorry has been a while need to get back at it]

I could repeat it: I put stuff into many requester chests with inserters and let the chests request small amounts. When deconstructed and the delivery was very near (one of the other chests besides or it was because it was a requester chest?), they where emptied very fast. When it was a bit more far away, there was always only one construction bot for deconstruction.
If needed I upload a save, but not over the weekend.

I have now an example for such a deconstruction:

#1 is before deconstruction. #2 is after setting it. I added only some more construction bots to see, if that helps.
In the deconstruction after about 3 minutes you see a steel chest at -97,139 with about 500 iron plates left, which is emptied by only one bot.
(besides that you see, that some bots get suddenly stuck, or that some stuff isn't deconsructed or some items tried to be deconstructed several times but that's another bug)

I found the reason, solved for 0.9.8 now.
