kinetic energy = m v^2 / 2
i would propose that killing power is proportional to k.e. , equivalently killing power is proportional to speed squared.
for example if 100kph can kill 3 biters before halting, 200kph can kill 12 biters. and the speed reduction should be based on reducing k.e.
also increase loco/cargo will increase k.e. proportionally.

My play style is to kill every nest near the pollution cloud. If the nests never get pollution then the aliens don't form attack groups. And then you don't need walls and turrets at all.
And with artiellery it's just a matter of building a small turret outpost to protect the artillery, clean up all the surrounding aliens and then you can deconstruct it again. You only have to deal with the aliens you aggro by shooting their nests.
