Help with fps

Post by kiengaynho »

i've been playing for a while with max setting of enemies, using several mods: bobenemies_0.13.1, Misanthrope_0.6.8, Natural_Evolution_Enemies_6.1.5, Natural_Evolution_Expansion_6.1.5, SmartSplitters_1.0.0. not sure it is because of me for staying at patch 0.13.19 or what but my game became so lag, average fps around 13-30. how ever gpu, cpu usage never hits 50%. i'm addicted to this game but this really frustrated me. here is my spec : 6600k, 1080 gaming g1, 16gb ram. Sorry for bad english.
Regards.

And where should it be moved to?

In general:

- Use Debug Mode, to find bottlenecks. Especially mods need eventually some CPU.
- Make belts empty. Every item on a belt uses CPU.
- Don't overuse circuit network.
- Lesser but longer trains.
- Try to use more logistic bots.
- Try to reduce inserters, that are always moving (fast inserter instead of basic).
- Use stack sizes of inserters and bots, so that inserters/bots need to move less.
- Buy faster CPU and faster RAM. :D
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

This is not true. It's not the items on a belt that uses cpu but the items moving that does it. So having a long belt line full of items, that arent moving, uses just as much cpu as an empty belt.

Not much more to say about increasing fps but the next big update, 0.15, should be released in ~ a month which should contain some nice optimizations.
Waste of bytes : P
